The Canberra Raiders have announced an initial 32-man first grade squad to begin pre-season training on November 6, with an additional seven players added to cover for players recovering from injury.
The Raiders plan to cull this initial squad following the Christmas/New Year break after an assessment of this first period of pre-season training, reverting to the more conventional 25 man outfit.
2006 Raiders players Alan Tongue, Troy Thompson, Phil Graham and Tom Learoyd-Lahrs are among those recovering from post-season surgery, while new Raiders recruits Steve Irwin, Brett Kelly, Tony Pamatangi are also recovering from operations.
Most of these players are expected to be ready to continue training later in the pre-season, making it a tough assignment for incoming Coach Neil Henry to select his final 25.

That's pretty much every senior player we have on the books - not a very surprising squad in the slightest.

They were just rumours. Milne isn't even on the list he seems to have dropped real far down the order.

That's a hell of a lot of forward power. But what about our backline?

The presence of Shif would have made all the difference for 2007. Whoever negotiated that out clause in his contract needs to be strung up.
