Well if you compare safety's to people getting tackled in goal in rugby leage....lol..I think you'll find that's what SHAGMOP was referring to mate lol. I haven't seen a safety for awhile come to think of it...and I've never pulled one off on Madden.

yeah. the only time i ever got a safety in madden it was disallowed due to a penalty one of my players (which the PS2 was controlling!!!)

I think it depends on the defence your running. If you get into the 4-3 formation, and your linebackers, or guards make a clean break through their opposite man, then you can force the team back several yards. Also, a sack could be on the cards, and when they are just 10 metres out from their end zone, anything could happen.

i think the easiest way to get a safety would be on a shotgun play with a clean brake ont the defensive side and a not so clean snap and a delayed throw. either that or a toss or reverse gone wrong.

Obviously its easiest when there is fewer offensive linesman, the old Singleback 5 receiver set is a sack waiting to happen if a team doesnt have a QB with a quick release, the split back 3 WR set isnt much better because most running backs (not fullbacks) dont block to well

running backs are to interested in getting away from the opposite team rather than trying to stop them!

That is true in most situations, but there are also plenty of pass plays where running backs try and block and look foolish in doing so.

"Brett Favre is the biggest dog in Wisconsin" so a commentator once said, can't remember who it was though. Seems to have a double meaning.
