I`ve only seen glimpses of him play, but noticed he made the N.S.W U/19s.He`s also been promoted to Premier League and i`m wondering where we signed him from and what type of player he is???Is he a biggish or smallish hooker???Is he a creative player or does he posess a powerful running game???

He's smallish type but a dynamic runner from what i've seen. Similar to mears in someways.........MT will be able to shed a lil more on him though im sure.

Something Balmain has always been able to produce and thats very smart dummy halfs and Schulz is no exception - its a great work by the kid to get a starting go in PL even though Robbie "Ego" Fararh is injured for the rest of the season and Henderson is back into the halves.

He is smart, defensivly sound rarely breaks the line but thats because he always tries to pass the ball, very unselfish, and for some reason does make the right options 99% of the time be it through a chip or passing on the right side for an attacking raid. He is young and small for a Hooker but he does remind me a hell of alot like Dazza did many years back.

He isn't in the same mould as Farah in attack but he is smart and has a heap of potential.

I thought last year when I heard we had lost Luke Fahey to the Roorters that balmain would struggle to find an good hooker to fill the void and I knew Whaihape would fill the viod well but he just didn't look to me like he could go all the way Schulz on the other hand does!

I know he came to the Tigers via Wests Panthers colts, but isn't he originally a kiwi?

More than likely

You probably already know but there are few more young guys coming down to play for the Tigers next year from Wests Panthers and Runaway Bay that I think were shipped across from Noo Zuland, Hermann Retzlaff is one of them I believe.

I have actually been told that the Wests Tigers/Balmain have come up with some scheme to develope kiwis into the side over a period of time - next year we will have a quota of at least 20 Kiwis playing accross NRL, PL and JF between Balmain and the Wests Tigers alone and with the majority apperantly playing at least JF or making there way into PL

Interesting times ahead but it is good to see they are looking abroad

I have a feeling it will be through Wests as I havn't heard anything Balmain's side of things for contracted players for next year - however he is contracted for the next 2yrs to the WTS junior development programe so he is ours for that time at least

He is still at school and is playing for Keebra Park I think

He's actually playing for Runaway Bay in the Mixwell Colts. This is the team that alotof those Keebra Park kids turn out for due to the affiliation the Bay has with the Wests Tigers. He has been one of their best players all year in an otherwise sh*tty side. Others worth noting are Greg Eastwood and Jeff Poland who could end up with a trial with either the Tigers or the Magpies. Out of the Mixwell Cup side, Ben Evans would be the only player worth giving a trial. The whole team is crap

Oh god it so sounds like I'm a Tiger's supporter.........I feel so dirty :(

A lot of those young kiwis can be contributed to the good work of Vision Sports Management in Auckland. They've been the ones behind the Marshalls, Moas, Retzlaffs, Morris' and others.

You might find that Sam Moa will be turning out for the Black & Golds next season. From the bits I've heard round the traps, he'll be worth paying the price of admission to watch.
