I just read that Castleford's stadium got final approval (feels like it's about the third time I've read such a story!)

Seems strange though that in upgrading stadiums, they are actually REDUCING capacity though :?

I think 10,000 for a Super League team is a bit dumb as you're limiting yourself. The match vs Leeds is often capable of exceeding that. Anyway...

Theres only 40,000 in the town...10,000 represents 25% of the place..

Yeah I understand that, but they got 11,323 earlier in the season against Leeds. So they're basically willing to shut the door on those extra 1,323, which I think is a shame.

Ive not seen the stadium plans but im guessing it'll be a basic four stand construction...meaning if they needed to expand they could fill in the 4 corners boosting the capacity to around 13,000

yeah from the sketches I saw, it is indeed one of those. Similar too Leigh, Widnes etc. But if you're gonna go to all the trouble and expense, why not just do it from the start? anyway...
