Wasn't the best grand final that's for sure...there were a few great defensive plays though
I had Storm to win by 7-12 so the second half had me on edge of my seat...if it wasn't for that i'd prob say it was a shit final

I loved every minute of that game, huge intensity, great defensive plays and a couple of magical tries. High quality stuff. Doggies lacked a bit of class in the halves, but they certainly turned up to play.

hard to see how morris wasn't "tackled" with out the ball then,

Its hardly expected that a guy would climb on your shoulders to punch a ball from behind you,

Yep, the big difference was between Cronk and Keating.

Smith outplayed Ennis, but Cronk demolished Keating, he was non-existent

It was the right call. Ball went froward with Morris and next contact was off a Storm player. As for the other thing you're saying, once Morris has touched the ball Slater is entitled to make the tackle. No use harping on about that one.

I was just going to ask that. I thought the intention of the rule of the ball hitting an opposing player was in the event of a tackle (ie the defender being in front of you).

However, Slater punches the ball from behind. I didnt think this was the intention of the rule. I would have been just as happy with a goal line drop out. Does anyone have the knock-on rules handy?

Rubbish game. Best thing about it was Toothpick Graham gnawing into Slater.

All this bullshit about swarming storm defence...

The dogs forwards didn't turn up and weren't dominant in the middle, and were trying to fling it about when they hadn't earned the right.

If the doggies were smashing them up the guts they could one-two it as much as they like, but they weren't and had no momentum and the play kept getting wrapped up.

If Saints in 2010 were "boring" and they scored more points in 40 minutes then that whole f**king game then the word we are looking for to describe it is not average.

Take off the f**king rose tints, it was shit.
The storm quiet often made a mile straight up the guts of the field - btw I thought the dogs would have had a bit more defensive steel than that - and by some freak of nature did they not score more points, maybe because they chose territory saving kicks over attacking plays, as opposed to the dogs who preceded to kick it down Slaters throat.

2000 at least had a great defensive display by brisbane
2001 had a feast of points
2002 had points again
2003 had tension and power in wet weather
2004 was a bit dour
2005 had points
2006 was pretty shit
2008 was one sidedbut with points
2011 was at least tense at the end

The game today was shit.

If you knock the ball forward and it touches an opposition player, its a knock on. That's the rule

2000 was a dud, ground wasn't even sold out. No atmosphere and killed off day grand finals.

Today, dour. Storm slowly grind it out as expected and as the rules currently allow.

I thought it was one of the more boring Grand Finals. It was good defensively but Canterbury never looked like winning the game or scoring and if Cameron Smith could kick goals the scoreline would of reflected just how much of a one sided game it was. Not a fan of the one sided games.
