Well, CM Punk is not exactly the mould for a World Champion in the WWE's eyes since he isn't huge and doesn't perform power moves. However, putting the title on him (and Chris Jericho) was good for them because there was huge media attention on the company regarding steriod abuse. The only champion they have now who looks like he could be on the juice is HHH.

Punk's current storyline has him looking for a partner to claim the World Tag Team Titles from DiBiase Jr + Rhodes because they took his title off of him.
