The league media should really have a good hard look at themselves and perhaps take some lessons from AFL media.

Living in an AFL town I can tell you that the rumour mill about the players is always turning, but the percentage that get reported on are minimal and for someone complaining about a player 'chewing gum'??? Seriously, if thats the case, some folks need to find lives...

The AFL media may well have its faults, and it does have many, but it supports the game to the end, unlike Hadley and others. A lesson could be learnt there

It seems Ray Hadley can't win. Whenever he does his rugby league show that sometimes forgets it is a rugby league show, people here get angry and say it's a stupid show because it's not talking about the real league isses. Then, when Hadley gets serious about what is happening in rugby league, he gets blasted again.

To Ray's credit, he said he would attempt to bring back the fun this weekend. I think that's the point here. Some people forget that Ray Hadley is now not only a rugby league broadcaster. From 9-12 weekdays, he is paid to follow the latest news and current affairs stories and this is a major story that all networks are following.

Ray doesn't love this .... he hates doing it .... but it is HIS JOB. It's time to remember that while most in the media have a wonderful passion for rugby league, they do have a job to do, too.

And Ray's idea of real league issues appear to be kicking the game when it's down. He only seems to get serious when such dramatic off-field instances are involved - he is a nark in the true sense of the word.

Had there been no dramas this weekend, it would've been back to stupid songs and so-called "fun" with little mention of the games and GAME itself.

Why can't Ray run a decent rugby league show everyweek? I wouldn't mind so much his current attitude if he had a bit of respectability about his other RL work during other weeks. Fun's ok too, but we don't want romper room, we wan't rugby league and all the issues.

And when I say we, I'm talking rugby league supporters, not the non-supporters who his "exclusive" show appears to cater for.

The AFL have us covered on so many fronts and their radio programs are just one instance.

Also, troy I've heard Ray mention your name and site on air before, so I know where you're coming from.

Ray likes to incite hatred on his weekly programs and people flock to this like sheep. It just shows the sad state that our society is currently in when people love bad news stories.

Ray's other program on the weekends is a weak attempt at a comedy program that uses Rugby League as a backdrop. It is not a Rugby League program.

The ABC coverage is a million times better, and they have Warren Ryan who is a champion in my opinion.

That show is a disgrace,I havent listened to it for years.I find Play School more amusing,and at least there is usually a bit of eye candy on it.

Aussie Rules has plenty of footy talk on day and night,we have Ray.And people wonder why they love their footy down their.They talk about it bloody day and night.

Totally agree. How the NRL can be happy with handy rights to such immature wankers is beyond me. It rates because it attracts the non-footy follower. It's good for 2GB but not rugby league.

Is that what you want from what is suppossed to be a footy program?
