If we run out as selected 1-17 I can’t help but think it is an opportunity lost to give Sunia Turuva his debut and another opportunity for Lindsay Smith. Shame. It would have been an ideal opportunity.

Even resting Dylan Edwards could have been an option to blood Turuva, I know he was polling well in Dally M medal count but surely that would figure in selection calculations.

I would have thought so, 6 points in front of the Cowboys and 8 points in front of the rest of the pack. No better opportunity. I don’t think he playing any mind games, I think the 1-17 named is who he intends to run with. Shame, but it is what it is.

The Staines situation is a tough one, given it is suggested he is on $350k. Almost every other club has at least one established fullback, some have two options, so I’m not sure where he gets a start in his preferred position. He could do with having a blinder on Sunday to put himself back in the shop window so to speak.

I thought is was obvious. Throw in a couple of raw kids in a team basically of 2nd string players. The chances of failure climb.

I understand your point, which is a valid one. You don’t just hand out debuts willy nilly they have to be earned. I think in Turuva‘s case he has earned a debut on form and loyalty and is in front of Tom Jenkins. And despite how far we are in front of the chasing pack it remains a game which we want to win, so still have to select a 17 most capable of getting the two points.

we have good halves this time with Sullivan and Falls. if we lose we lose.

It means plenty to the players, fans, club etc.

Like most fans I hope for a really good performance and a win.

Just like the Broncos achieved against a Dragons side on Sunday who were only minus Hunt. A vastly under strength Broncos got the job done and I hope we can do the same.

Might mean nothing to you, might mean nothing in respect of the minor premiership or top four, but it does mean something. It is a win, 16-1, that means something.

Pretty much. The only thing they have to gain is fresh rep players. Other than that we get the nice warm feels if they win I guess.
