A big in for the Eels as the Foxx returns early from a hand injury allowing Horny Sean Russell to return to his stronger position in the centres. Eels fans will be hoping this stiffens the left edge which got torn apart by the Storm last Thursday. Brian Kelly has earned the opportunity to miss tackles in the KOE Cup. Some might consider the headless Chook Simmonson to be lucky to retain his place with the Mad Ibis Samrani showing good form in the lower grade. The 2 halves remain unchanged with former Storm prodigy Pezet ready to play his first proper game for the Eels at Suncorp.

Up front Hopgood sits down for a week after copping a head to his shoulder from Storm prop Alec M. The other Jack Williams moves into the middle and Ryles takes a massive risk in promoting Kelma Tuilagi to the starting side.

The bench is one big bloke in Tuivaiti, and 5 small merkins. Maybe they could buy a long coat and play Joash and Matt Doorey at the same time, standing on each other's shoulders in what would be a magnificent combination of leg speed and hole running with playmaking ability.

Eels by 6.

I'll get back to work.

Gee I hope we get some good replacements next year for Wiliamson JDB and Kelma..

Best side we have though at the moment...

I give us a red hot crack this week as long we park the offloads away.

We match up well against the Bronx at Suncorp.

Madge is 1 win from his last 11 since 2016 against Parra.

Last year we beat them having just 3 offloads playing set for set footy and that frustrated Brisbane and Pretty boy who prefer the flashy stuff more then the grind.

We beat them doing the boring stuff

If we let Moses kick them into the corner all game and make them work it out.

The Broncos have proven in the past numerous times its not the way they want to play.

If we do that and Pretty boy and his prick of a side kick are kept under control

Parra by 4

Not looking forward to this game, I fear we are in for another thrashing. Not sure what we were doing at training, but the main side looks slow and lethargic. This was evident against the Roosters as well before the young guys came on.

I think we drank the cool-aid and were believing and hype and thought things would come easy, especially once we scored that early try whilst down to 12 men. We you have that attitude and things go wrong, its very hard to right it mid-game.

Moses alluded to it in his press conference today that some of the boys (sounds like he meant himself too) may have gotten ahead of themselves.

Ryles spoke well and said they pulled them in over the weekend for review and training and and have moved on.

Whilst i am not expecting a win (not many teams not expected to play finals will be winning vs broncos at Suncorp this year) i'm expected a much improved performance effort wise and better defensive resolve. If the broncos are still off their game as they have been the last 2 times they've run out - we're in with a chance

I'm still mentally deflated after that drubbing last Thursday. JR and Moses have said that they've all moved on as a team and they have standards, etc. But last week's loss still proved that we're brittle, undisciplined and get overwhelmed when things don't go our way. The ol' Jekyll and Hyde Eels stench is still around. If we fold once the six agains start mounting up then we know where we're heading in 2026.
As far as the team for round 2 is concerned, having JAC available (or so it seems) is a bonus. Not dropping some players shows that JR considers this a 'blip on the radar' and there's no panic yet, so we'll see soon enough. I'm not confident, so I bought some Tooheys New to help me watch the game.

Happy with Williams in the middle with Hopgood absent, and hopefully Ryles has learnt from his bench f**k-ups so that Sam T gets some minutes in the middle rotation this week.

Hope JAC is clear to play, we look stronger with him there and Russell in the centres. Simonssen is ok enough a selection, Samrani will only benefit from further regular Cup time in the position to be an option later on when JAC is repping or someone is injured.

Kelma on the edge... it's been done before and we know what we get (and don't get). Hopefully there's an edge bench rotation that means we don't need Kelma and KK playing the whole 80mins. Good think is Broncos bench looks a little weak to me... but then our whole squad looks weaker in comparison to the Broncos.

Last week I tipped us by 10... this week I'll tip Broncos by 22.

Because everyone wants to drink the Koolaide, because we all want to believe.

I want nothing more than to turn it around and bash the broncs but I have little faith in us. If we do get smashed this weekend I’m interested to see what happens then with selections moving forward…

Speaking of Koolaide, the carry on from some podcasts, run by virgins the last few years can make some forget fans thinking that they are following a top NRL side in the NRL, every year.

Another flogging on Thuraday and I will almost be not looking forward to the rest of the season. I can cop a loss but if its nore then 20 id say we are shot
