This week, Hoppa hasn't even been doing full contact at training as far as i know.

Desperation? It really is getting to the point where we give it a red hot go or put the cue in the rack.....must be giving it a shot and we need Hoppa in the side if there is even a glimmer of hope, imo.

Why do you reckon he started the year in reserve grade, and why has it changed?

If what you are saying is what BA is doing, it makes no sense.
Toutai has an absolute shocker and clearly has work to do and is gifted another week in first grade.
I think it has become clear why Sio hasn't been picked

Shocker? He made one error, missed one tackle and ran for 119 metres (second in the team).

Idiot fans think he had a shocker because his error came when attempting to ground the ball for a try early in the second half (which somehow ruined the next 30 minutes and made us lose) and because Souths kept creating space out wide.

He made 3 critical mistakes, one that cost us a certain try, one that caused a Souths try, plus a missed tackle that contributed to another Souths try.

Every player makes mistakes. It's not Toutai's fault that Souths capitalised on his. That's just part of being a winger.

Train to Robina, I assume they have public transport to the stadium or its a 15 min walk.

No public transport from robina station to Stadium, but it's only a 5min walk. Basically the same as when you get off at Olympic Park for ANZ

Do you actually watch footy games or just look at the stats after a game and then make your assessment?

I don't think it's a matter of watching football, more have a general feel for what it's like being in a team sport. I don't blame Toutai for Turner's try, he didn't do anything wrong per se, was a team effort to allow Souths into good kicking position, allow Keary to get a comfortable kick away and not put adequate coverage for Toutai to field the kick. The team would have felt shitty at themselves (or should have) for that try.

But the bombed try was all Toutai, the rest of his teammates put in good work to setup what should have been a relatively easy try and to not score would have been incredibly deflating which seem to have led to our collapse (Pou, I also believe the team should have more mental toughness, but should & do are different).

He didn't have a bad game but his mistakes were just that monumental they highlighted how we lost.

I have said it the past Toutai is a centre trying to play wing and so needs to be taught how to actually play wing

I watch the game but since merkins (myself included) watch full of emotion they only remember the highlights. I find this leads to unreliable assessments, and idiots wondering how the f**k the coach can't see what the rest of us see!!!

Therefore I like to look at the stats and re-watch the game a few days later. It's given me an understanding of what coaches mean when they talk about certain players 'doing the things fans don't notice'.

Not sure why people think Sio offers more than Toutai. They are both first grade quality backs. Sio is faster and more agile, Toutai is more of a big, powerful winger. Both are ordinary defenders at times, because they're wingers. Both can have a shocker under the high ball, although Sio has improved a lot in that area he's still not exactly a vault. They can both score a try, 10 for Sio and 7 for Toutai. Toutai does a lot more work than Sio in terms of helping the forwards out. Sio has more experience and panics less when he does make an error, but Toutai will grow into that.

Ultimately, they're about the same level, so it depends if you want speed or power and BA seems to want Toutai's bigger, stronger frame. Possibly to complement what Radradra offers on the other side, and also because we are light in the pack with the injuries we have. Whatever the reason I rate both, but you can't pick both.

Wow your a really bad judge.Sio scores that try against south 10/10 times.
Toutai has the power but so what if he can do a hit up and make 8 meters instead of sio making 6mtrs.Those 2 mtrs wont change a game.A dropped ball try line wide open will.
Toutai has potential to be better, but at present Sio is superior

Tautai - 170 metres, 3 tries, 10 tackle busts and two offloads in a man of the match performance to silence the crictics
