They somehow negotiated 70% of their pay to continue. It's pretty enticing for the rest of the Warriors to take up that option, particularly when they are getting flogged most weeks.

No wonder they are happy to f**k off........it is that attitude that has made them the way they are, absolutely no fight.

N Cleary has turned me into a real fan. Such an improved player this year. Credit is being given to Barrett. If so great job. The Pennys look the real deal to me. Such a young team as well. Gus may have done the ground work but it appears removing him has realised their potential. Im sure there will be plenty of left over Panthers for Baz to take to The Dogs. A real production line out there particularly backs.

They are definitely the real deal and Cleary is all class (as a player anyway). Wouldn’t it be nice to produce good backs?

I’ve got no hate for the Panthers. Would rather they won it than Rorters or the the Melbourne Rorters.

I'd say Maloney going has made Cleary better.

They churn them out. We have had a nice little production of juniors of late with Mahoney,Kafusi,Brown. We did unearth Niakuore and Sivo also.
And Matterson and Jnr where ours. I get impression Hollis and Hughes will also be another two forwards part of our production come 2021. If had to chose unearthing forwards over backs would be my preference.

Agree. I think Cleary is a coaches dream. He will play his backseat role when needed then step up when he needs to. ... he was content to play 2nd fiddle to maloney, but now is going to a higher level.

I dont get why people are so down on him. He is a quality player

If discussing our juniors, don't forget the three Tigers forwards that came from our junior systems (Eisenhuth, Twal, Aloiai)... just because we decided not to keep them and bring them into first grade ourselves, it doesn't mean we didn't produce them.

I think that last 2yrs our junior development has been ok. I imagine we will bring a few more next season. I dont see point bringing to many cause you need some older players so would just develop them for other clubs. 2 or 3 juniors a year would be excellent.

Yep, and a few others I am sure.
And that was my point - we have been producing 1st graders, we just haven't decided to keep them all.
But if we aren't keeping them then aren't we missing out on the major benefit of producing juniors in that you get them a bit cheaper for a few years?

I think of juniors like carrots... grow a big crop and choose which ones you put on the dinner plate (play NRL for you), put in a stew (play Reggies) or feed to the horse (release to other clubs).
Simple.
And I only talk in facts and am right 85% of the time.

You can't keep them all, especially when what our squad needed was experience. You can't get that from your junior development system.

If they're going to other clubs there's a fair chance they're not happy with unders. I suspect the cat is out of the bag these days. The cheap juniors ship has sailed somewhat.
