Reaching the RLIF !

Has anyone ever had any luck in getting a response from the RLIF ?

Sent a number of emails this year courtesy of the address provided on the website - but to avail

Realise this could become another RLIF bashing thread ---- but really only want to know a) if you have 'made contact' with the elusive RLIF and b) has a 2013 season RLIF Annual Report been produced ?

i used to swap emails with richard lewis when he was at the RFL and we exclusively talked international RL and the RLIF....


but no luck with the current mob....nor has a 2013 report been issued yet

The "rugby union man" we mentioned in a recent column as having been offered the RLIF CEO's post has been identified in the British press. According to League Express, he is Mike Miller, a former IRB chief executive who now has a job in the Olympic movement. Set of Six believes there was plenty of untidiness about the interview process, with RLIF's delegates too busy with domestic matters to keep appointments. That would not have given American Miller a very good impression of the organisation he was being asked to run. He was as punctual in responding to the offer as the RLIF was in making it. Finding someone of quality, but willing to overlook the sometimes shambolic structure of international rugby league, will be no mean feat.

I don't think they even have a dedicated staff, it's basically just a board, the profits from the World Cup were supposed to go toward hiring an executive and staff.

If you have a website as a governing body for a major sport and said website has details on how they can be contacted - surely there is some one who can supply a reply. Even it is a token 'Thanks for your email. We'll be in touch' response. Small time hobby clubs i've made enquiries too have this at least !!!


Love this game of RL and have invested a lot of time and money into being a fan of the international arena ....but sometimes you have to wonder if the powers that be are really as interested and passionate as many of us on this and other forums.

As a last resort i've emailed the NRL (via their feedback form).

Will give credit where it is due. The NRL have always answered my questions.

Main query is in regards to the existence of an Annual Report.

Have copies of the 2013 AR for QRL, NSWRL, NSWCRL, VRL, NZRL, RLEF and RFL plus a few others of interest ( Qld country comps) .....but nothing from the the Governing body of the game :?


Have a few other queries regarding most capped internationals from each country, and team with most international opponents ( guessing France ) and acknowledgement of the games 125th birthday in 2020. ( Especially as the 100th anniversary was tarnished by the Super League saga of the time).

Just dissapointing that we give to the game with our support ....but don't get back much in reply !

Received a response ( from the NRL) to my follow up email regarding the RLIF Annual Report.

Details as per below ( with my details removed !)

Just find it very unusual that for the year that the code held its biggest international tournament and new nations emerged - the governing body fails to provide any report on the code and its successes for the year.

Know for sure i have read AR's from them in previous years.

Thanks for your enquiry.

The RLIF have advised us that no annual report was produced for 2013.

The only relevant documents recently announced are details of audited accounts of the RLIF.

If there is any specific information you are seeking, please let me know and I would be happy to assist where possible.
