Well done guys- way to put even more pressure on our team.

Why can't you guys just drop it- if you don't want to support the side and the coach then don't but carrying on with signatures like this is petty and childish.

I'm not going to say all is sweet and Brian is the greatest coach in the NRL- but whilst he's coach of the Eels as supporters we support...we don't carry on like a bunch of Ray Hadleys.

I really don't think anyone is going to pay attention so a signature in an internet forum. I support your cause though and hope it brings success.

you know what will be real funny.

If Smith goes and you's still dont win.

Smith is part of the problem, not the whole problem. The players are to be blamed also.

True, much like Manly over the past few years. They gave the new coach time to sort through those he wanted and those he didn't last year before June 30 and they targetted the players they wanted early and its paid off.......

Paying faith in youngsters and those unwanted by other clubs has paid off. We see little or no faith in our youngsters and far too much faith in players that aren't putting in the effort. A change has to occur somewhere so is best to work from the top down as working from the bottom up has gotten us nowehere for three years.

That's funny- last I checked we were in front of Manly on the ladder- despite our problems, we've won more games than them.

Not only that, we beat them at their place a month or so ago.

Further to all that- they have half of our old line-up in their side. So how can you say its paid off?

I agree- you can have your thoughts on the coach- but all this slagging off from the clubs supporters is pretty ordinary don't you think. Yes we love the Eels, Yes we won't results, and Yes players/ coaches/administrators come and go- but why not get behind the club when they're down instead of calling for changes???

You guys are happy to support when we're up- and sink the boot in when we're down. Just show a bit more patience and hope that the people in charge can turn things around.

Never said anywhere about there position on the ladder. Last year Manly struggled and didn't look like winning games after half time. This year they have got players who will fight right down to the wire. They may not be above us on the ladder but we were very very lucky to get away with the win against them. Even Smith said that. They want to play for the coach because he has shown faith in them - much the same way the youngsters from the Dragons reapid the faith of Nathan Brown.

If you have a look back through my 2500 posts you'll find that this is not something I have arrived at after five minutes. I've supported the coach for the past two and a half years but there is no change to where we were this time last year. The coach has changed his tack but its hasn't paid off, which is something many of us have believed that he could do with the changes he has made. He won't use the injuries and suspension as an excuse as he believes he has the players to do the job - many of us believe the same thing. What we do find though is a lack of response by the players top Smith's methods and Friday showed just how far they had fallen. We want him to turn it around but he hasn't - we've have just gone from bad to worse.

Even some of the most ardent supporters of Smith have had a gutful. If you want to go on thinking that he can pull us out of it then good luck to you. The above is my opinion and you have yours.....

Fair enough- I don't think signatures like Planet's are worth anything though. They are useless. The signature is not going to get the coach removed- all it's going to show is that you want changes and are not fully behind your team. It makes us look like bandwagoners. Think what you want, say what you want- but publicly displaying these thoughts rather than getting behind the team just causes more tension.

So Manly have players who are willing to play for the coach and have won 3 games from 10. We have players who hate the coach, want to leave, are disinterested and playing under outdated coaching methods and are 4/10. Hmm....how could that be.

I agree we are playing poorly, I agree some players look disinterested- but they are professionals whos job is to follow a coaches preperation and play footy once a week. If they don't want to do that than they should be held accountable along with the person preparing them. Their job is to play 80 mins- and not to give up, look disinterested- throw the towl in.....at least half of them can't say they've been doing their job properly then and should cop just as much flack as the coach.

How many wins has Parra Recorded in the last month? Manly never stood a chance earlier in the season with the player turnover and now that they'd have some time to gel we've been more competitive and consistent than we have at any time since 1998, and there is still alot of improvement left in the side.

If Simth doesn't watch out, rock bottom might be alot worse than getting thrashed by SGI's reserve grade.

Ithink sigs like PLanets show that we are passionate about our club. Too passionate to put up with the drivel that is representing us when they play. In fact, I think true passion excites a need and desire to see the club at it's best, and not some half arses apologetic rabble that puts the employment of coaches and other staff above what is good for the club.

If you want passion, have a look at Souths. After a year and a bit with the worst player roster in the NRL, Langmacks job is under the hammer. Even with theirwoeful recent history, they are not copping losses any more. Parra should heed their example.

Bugger me is being a wonderful supporter means being happy if your team is shit!

*edit*

When we signed Wade McKinnon from Souths a lot of people on here blew up questioning why we signed a reserve grader from Souths.

Two weeks ago when I was reading this forum people were questioning Wade McKinnon being in the side over Luke Burt.

Two weeks on, and you are saying he's a lock for the team and he's been our best the past 3 weeks.

Now you're trying to say who should/shouldn't be our coach- Michael Witt this, Michael Witt that..... It's fair enough to have an opinion, but when your opinion is rerpeated over and over again to the point where it becomes monotonous- and you're making signatures like this enough is enough.

The point of the McKinnon , Witt examples are that alot of you guys change your minds everyweek (Mckinnon), with Hindsight (McKinnon) or without testing the alternative (Witt). Give it a rest and support your team through support. I hardly see how plastering signatures like this is anything but a show of disrespect for the coach and hence the team.

Your being kind there.

Many people absolutely slated the signing of McKinnon.

What we are seeing now is a return to his 2001 reserve grade form.

As I've said - you have your opinion and like many others on here I have my own. I have always supported the coach and the team however based on the past 18 months enough is enough. Brian changed what he wanted to change and quite clearly its not working. Many were prepared to give him time but its gone on long enough. Many of us want changes now rather than when its too late.

If you don't like my opinion, and that of many others, then go build yourself a bridge.

I don't really think that these signatures will do anything either, but at the same time when someone like planet or Colonel decides to place them in a sort-of public area then they do carry a bit of weight.

I know Colonel relatively well and know planet extremely well. These are not the "always negative" people that can easily be found here, always whinging about this and that and prefering to take the easy road of negativity. These are both relatively rational, extremely passionate and most importantly, loyal fans who have stuck by the Club through good times and bad, always making the effort to attend games, functions, events etc to show their support. It is absolutely true to say that these guys are part of the Club itself in a way that very few fans manage to achieve.

When they decide to make decisions like this I know that it gets noticed by those people who count, and as such the banners can be very important.

Personally, I am going to hold off for a bit to see if something that I have discussed with planet comes to pass. I am not the type of guy to come out and change my stripes without at least giving those I will stand against one last chance to show me that I am in the wrong.

HJ, colonel and planet are not the only passionate supporters here. The fact that they chose this month to add that sig just shows that they are 2 years too late - but at least they have finally nutted it out, unlike some ostriches.
