The Reds have won the last two matches between them and the Stormers but overall the Stormers have a better record against the Reds.
In the last eight matches between these teams the Stormers have won six and the Reds 2.
Overall the Reds have played the Stormers 14 times and the Reds have won 6 times and the Stormers eight times. That works out at the Reds winning 43% of their matches against the Stormers.
On average when the Reds play the Stormers the Reds score 24 point and the Stormers score 25 points.
In Brisbane the Reds have played the Stormers seven times and won four times which equals a 57 % success ratio in Queensland.
In Brisbane on average the Reds score 25 points and the Stormers also score 25 points.
The Reds injuries this season have been well documented and Quade Cooper is still not back from injury but this week there has been a bit of a leveler as the Stormers have lost Andries Bekker and Jean de Villiers. Schalk Burger is only expected back some time next month.
Bekker is a core part of the forwards and De Villiers a core part of the Stormers backs so it is reasonable to expect these injuries to impact heavily on their performance.
The Stormers will go into this match off their first loss for the season as they lost to the Crusaders last week and needed an extra time penalty to secure the losing bonus point.
Even though the Stormers lost last week they should still be fairly confident as the Reds will be coming off a bye which they desperately needed having suffered some heavy losses on their tour.
It should be noted however that the Reds won their match before the bye against the Brumbies 20-13 so they have regained some form. The Reds also have Mike Harris back from injury and he will be ready to punish any Stormers indiscretions with penalty kicks.
The Stormers will have analyzed where they went wrong last week and should kick a lot less so it could come down to kicks. The Stormers should win by 2 points.
This match will be shown on TV in NZ, Aus, SA and in the UK on the Sky Sports website.
