After the Eels smacked the Saints. Id rather be St.George on 22 points than Parramatta on 18!. Well theyre both on 24 points, but the Eels have a better for and against. Good one Nathan.

Yep, for season 2003 Saints really do "have the smell of Parramatta about them"...

Cheers,

firstly, that St.George emblem for your avatar looks awesome, better than the little eel i have that has a small spot light on it.

second, we did you guys a favour on the weekend. you can now bag your friends to the south even more with the 74-4 win the eels put on. :)

I know, it was magical waking up on Sunday morning, opening the newspaper & seeing 74-4 staring me in the face. It made my weekend, especially after the debacle on Friday night. We will be dining out on this for years...

Cheers,
Ben S.

Was that the biggest lose by a team since 1935?.
Interesting thought - I'll look up the scores tonight. People still talk about the 91-6 scoreline from almost 70 years ago. I should imagine 74-4 will keep us entertained for some time as well. 8)

In 1935 Saints defeated Canterbury 91-6 (premiership record) and then Easts defeated Canterbury 87-7 in successive weeks. Must have been a bad month for the Berries.

The 74-4 flogging is the largest winning margin since then and is in good company as the third worst loss in the competition's history.

I'd rather my team concede 74 points with 10-11 men, than concede 70 points with a full 13...

We have a very good explanation for our record loss. What's yours?

What an overflow of stupidity.

When Saints were done 70-10, I wrote a damning piece which listed all our faults and how it was an insult to the supporters. I said that at the very least, the club and the players owed the fans an apology.

These thoughts were echoed by ex-players and other fans.

As it turned out, the players did aplogise and even Anthony Mundine, the bloke who is hated for havng a big head, came out and apologised.

That's the difference between our clubs. We demand better. When Cronulla stuff up, they look to pin the blame on someone else.

Where do we start?? Failure to respect the final decision of the referee?? Bringing the game into disrepute?? A send-off due to a player indiscriminently attacking the head of an opponent??

74-4, it must be John Lang's fault - surely the Cardiac King couldn't be responsible for that debacle, he of the much vaunted "winning culture"...

in 98 or 99 they took out brett hodgson when they hit him high and broke his jaw with an elbo to it(mitch healy scum)

and in the same game they broke dave pennas neck and took him out 4 good, and that was after they 1 st broke his neck in the earlyer game in the session.it was his comeback game and the same team was gettin beat again so they thought they had unfinnished buisness.

i am so happy we flogged them and they can make all the noise they want because there a team of sore losers that will go to any lenth to get what they want
