"Remi Casty, pleased to meet you."

Remi Casty arrives in Sydney in December just in time for Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations.

In the meantime we will all have a chance to watch him play for France in the World Cup against Papua-New Guinea, New Zealand and Samoa in October and November. Unfortunately almost all the French players come from the Catalans club (because the incompetent English administration of the RFL have been slow to introduce a second French club into Super League), so it means that New Zealand is in effect playing against one Super League club minus its foreign stars. The prospects of France winning that game against the heavy firepower of the Kiwis is very remote. So in that game Remi will be having to keep up the morale of the team, as well as his own. France's game against Papua-New Guinea will be more evenly matched.

On the field Remi is a tough dude who does not take step backwards. He will make the hard yards up the middle. He will tackle hard. He could get involved in a bit of argy-bargy if opposing players start to needle him. Nevertheless Trent Robinson should be able to keep him in line so as not to give away penalties. However off the field he is going to have a problem with the media because his French accented English is very rich and hard to understand sometimes. So I suggest to all the journos reading this: speak slowly and listen carefully when interviewing Remi.

He will also play a lot of NSW Cup given the strength of our team.

Unless LOD doesn't re-sign.

Meanwhile, stop trolling the main forum. This belongs in the Roosters section. Either that or your own troll cave thread, "Albert's Theories of Irrelevant Activity"

You don't know what you are talking about, as usual.

Remi had to have been given a decent contract by the Roosters to lure him away from Catalans, where he is captain. He would not have come if he had not been promised regular game time in the NRL. He will be one of the Roosters regular bench props in 2014, and a starting prop if Jared W-H or Sam Moa is injured.

Surely you aren't writing off the chance of Remi Casty, the greatest rugby league player of all time, single handedly defeating the Kiwis and eventually the Kangaroos?

LOL

Trent Robinson EMPHASIZED at the fan forum that Casty was a cheap signing. Your hero was signed as nothing more than depth to replace Tasi.

Trent did not utter your second sentence. And the second sentence does not follow logically from the previous sentence.

In other words there is no way that you can infer from the possible fact that Remi Casty was a cheap signing (if that is what Trent really said) that Remi is not going to be a regular member of the top 17.

Again, it it would be more likely, if Remi was not getting a big pay cheque, that in order to leave France Remi would have wanted some kind of verbal assurance that he was being considered for a top 17 place in the team.

Lol yeah because everyday NRL clubs are banging down the door to sign French players

Robinson doesn't need to say Casty was signed purely for depth. He's coming cheap and we've got better players than him already. He will wear the Royal Blue at Marrickville a lot in 2014.

How could you possibly say that? What is your opinion of Casty's ability based on? The fact that you have a prejudice against French players?

How many Catalans games have you seen this year? None, or less than none?

Just found out Remi Casty won the 2013 Catalans dragons player of the year. Beating out superstars of the game such as Scott Dureau, Lopini Paea and Jamal Fakir
