Some of you may have heard in the news this week that our favourite (not) CEO Dennis Fitzgerald has had the wonderful idea of tryin to sell naming rights to our stadium...ala ANZ Stadium, Suncorp, Telstra etc... whilst i personally think this is a STUPID idea... can any one come up with any suggestions??

Mounties Stadium?
Asics Arena?
The Krispy Kremetorium? i kinda like that..

I think it is a stupid idea as well, at one stage they wanted to change it to the 'Power House'. But it wouldnt surprise me, since other stadiums have changed their name, Parramatta Stadium is one of the longest names in history, apart from Brookvale and Leichhardt.

Parramatta Stadium will always be a good name, nothing else.

Agree 100%...leave it be but we down the track we may have to be a bit open minded when this pokie tax hits and we need revenue from other areas.

If you can bring on a big sponsor to pay the costs of maintaining the stadium then that is a huge benefit to the financial situation of the club.

And it leave more money to spend on Tahu....give him $600K :?

Except, we dont own the ground, therefore how can we get good money from selling naming rights?

Well i dont think Fitzy would be tryin to sell em unless he had made some sort of agreement with the Council or Govt who own it...maybe revenue split 50/50??
And what ever happened to that 6 year plan where the stadium was going to get roofing the whole way around and a retractable roof? I remember seeing the blueprints and the artists impressions...they putting seatin on the hills but never started the rest of it!

or................."Brian's House of Mediocrity"

Heres a damn good idea!!!!

We subdivide the gound, sell plots off to developers to build 30 storey residential appartments.......a sure money spinner!!!

Then we can play on that warm up park next to the ground

I thought we do own the ground now???

Maybe....be news to me though. Its still managed by Parramatta Stadium trust....or at least that who fitzgerald shifted the blame to after the souths ticketing debacle.

We are the major lessee though, perhaps there may be a clause in the lease allowing us to do this.

How about Microsoft Parramatta Windows stadium XP.
Advantages:
- Buy any team that challenges us outright.
- Probably never be beaten again, even with a coaching team of Smith, Lamb and Langmack

Negatives:
Will be always the most hated team
Will always be in court for pretty much anything
Will be plenty of security issues that will be in constant need of patching.
Might need to buy a whole new team of players if the stadium is upgraded to keep it compatible.

Cant do.

That park would be the designated open space for the residential development :)
