Rep bonuses

How do they actually work? Who gets them? Do they form part of the cap?

e.g. WG played 2 SOO games. He gets his SOO payment but does he get rep bonus from the Sharks as well?

What does Briton get for representing NZ? Does it go into cap? Or does he get a contract upgrade?

Boogs and Lumelume for Fiji?

There are some other rep games coming as well where Sharks May feature. U/23 test is it?

I do know some blokes don’t have them. The ones that aren’t expected to ever feature.

Surely on a sliding scale.
Origin $10k
Aus/Nz $15k
City/country $1.50
2nd tiers $5000

But each guy would have a different rate.

Wonder how many of our you g blokes got a bonus for 10 plus NRL games??

I would love to know the answers.

I suspect they must be counted in, and left as cap unspent when the final tally is done.

If it was up to me I would not have these clauses, my clauses for bonus' would be how many minutes played for the Sharks.

You make rep teams, good for you, we will allow all games you require, take the bonus they provide.

I would allow any games missed due to rep games, to be counted a s "Shark minutes" so not missed.

So, you see where I’m heading. In the other thread a poster mused about the cap penalty only being 365k

I’m sure there are some “on costs” to be paid that throw a spanner in as well.

Is anyone due an upgrade? Besides Nikora who was already mentioned.

What about Woods? Are we kicking in more now. More than the original $259k or whatever we only paid?

We were operating below the cap when we got penalised.
Woods full contract is included in 2020.
The stuff being spruiked in the media is not accurate about our cap situation.

Good to know but if accurate why did we have to offload players? To be cap compliant in 2020 is my bet.
