Revenue for NRL Clubs (2018-2021)

good job there’s pokies! Most Clubs would be screwed without them
I'll round up the stats for merchandise and gate later. I'll even add gaming machine revenue. It's absurd how much money is generated from pokies in NSW.

I find it hilarious that a club from a small regional city in FNQ with a population of just 180k routinely draws more money from sponsorship and corporate hospitality than the Sydney teams. One of the arguments used by the NSWRL fans is Sydney can have nine clubs due the city's large business sector, yet the data from the annual reports proves it can only prop up a few teams.

Sorry typo on 2021 for Rabbitohs:

Sponsorship:
2021: $8.9m, 2020: $6.0m, 2019: $8.9m, 2018: $7.9m

Membership:
2021: $3.6m, 2020: $3.7m, 2019: $4.0m, 2018: $3.9m

Rabbitohs have made a profit 8 out the last 12 years without a pokie dividend from a leagues club. The club has also taken over the running of some of the grades from South Juniors adding cost to the bottom line.

Any info on the Warriors? Or because they were completely f**ked by COVID there is nothing to note?

intetesed to know what the NRL did for them or in 2020-22 or what they’re doing for them moving forward

I'm not sure if they release an annual report. Most clubs keep their financials hidden from the public.

Thank you very much. I'll add it to the table.

Sharks did pretty well considering they had no Leagues Club and only relied on the 10 pokies at a golf club.
Wait until the new Mega Leagues is open.
The money will roll right in!!

*I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. I know this thread is bait, but my jokes about XXXX and Bundy keeping Qld alive were just too clichéd.

Manly and Cronulla are the two weakest clubs.

I don't know what Manly makes from sponsorship and corporate hospitality or ticketing and membership, but their gaming machine revenue is on the light end. The poor facilities at Brookvale and low attendances would suggest their revenue from sponsorship and corporate hospitality is small.

Cronulla is trying to become bigger like the Dragons by expanding their Leagues Club, but they're still a lightweight generating little revenue from sponsorship and corporate hospitality as well as ticketing and membership.

For the sake of the game relocate Sharks and Sea Eagles to Adelaide and New Zealand. Dragons can take over Southern Sydney and Roosters can take over the North Shore and Northern Beaches.

I hear Singapore and Hong Kong are untapped markets screaming for an NRL team.

Just like Qatar and Saudi Arabia are ripe for a brewery.

Dumb f**king logic from idiotic merkins.
Ever been to the casino in Singapore? The biggest pokie den I've ever layed eyes on and every machine just getting fed with cold hard cash. Prime location for a new team to be propped up by the evil gambling dollar.

Nice deflection and derailment by the usual suspects but in light of the recent media about the nrl having to divert more of the games revenue to keep clubs afloat it’s a pertinent discussion to be having,

Nrl clubs have gone to collectively losing around 40 million to collectively making 40 million profit

like the players their greed is such that they now want even more funding over the cap

clubs on their own own hundreds of millions of property assets ignoring their leagues clubs

financially rugby league has never been stronger

This small data set, including badly affected Covid years, show that a small club in a small population area can thrive.
