Can't see that coming off but I hope I'm wrong, it would be absolutely fantastic if that happened.rumour has it that the SL tv right will be split to enable a sunday game to be shown on the BBC...

Sky money AND terrestrial coverage is just what the game needs. I hope this comes off.
That's a ridiculous idea.I'm surprised they haven't looked to do something more with the Challenge Cup which is already separate from Sky commitments. Rather than breaking up the Premiership with dedicated weekends for Challenge Cup quarter and semi finals, play one match a week, mid week on BBC 2 or 3. With the round of 16, quarters and semis there would be a 16 week long program of matches mid year, every week providing a free to air advertisement for the game and the upcoming weekend of Premiership matches.
Leigh.
Yep. Whoever said it had to be over in one weekend? The NSWRL was running this format for the Panasonic Cup 30 years ago. Each team still only plays one match per round and only has to backup for Premiership matches, once per round. But the game gets 16 weeks of primetime free to air exposure each season plus a standalone final, instead of two to three weekends of selected televised afternoon games each season plus a final.cos round 16 would take 2months to complete
Maybe, maybe not. Maybe it'll have a different sort of "cup buzz". Impossible to say unless you try it. But like the game in Australia, the game in England needs money to keep up with the Jonses. It has a limited number of big ticket media assets to play with and the question is how best to use them? The Challenge Cup final and preliminary rounds are two such assets.....having a couple of games aweek amidst superleague & championship league will kill " the cup buzz"
