If true, it could only happen to our club. I hope that we make Canberra pay through the nose for this. If he wants out then we should insist on a big fat cheque to release the merkin.

If he does want out, I reckon it's a dog act and makes all that he said about caring about the club disingenuous.

Didn't the Broncos try and take the Raiders junior development through that training thing in Ipswich?

The raiders just have a nab of picking up all the good juniors under the noses of the broncos.

That just shows by there constant success in the under 20s.

Even at the moment they have a couple in the under 20s that could be stars in the NRL like milford.

Like Lee who could be anything and Ahern.

That's right. The Raiders were the only other club besides us to have four players named in the under 20s Origin match.

Two of ours are eligible again next year. It's very exciting.

Excited when your under 20s are cropping up the table every season :roll:

The good talent that comes through like Toutai and Ranrandra are no world beaters either.

Is it just me or does anyone else think our club didn't leak the "information" and that the rumour helps take some spotlight off the travesty that is Canberra at the moment? At least our board has seemed a tad quieter for the past couple of weeks.

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. If we keep turning over coaches and rolling forward the same squad, regardless of what coach you bring in, it won't improve the situation. On previous pages, people spoke of accountability and someone cried that he'd never seen Stuart declare himself accountable. Well the first thing players, coaches, administrators have to do is be openly accountable to themselves. I honestly believe now that the old admin realised this and brought in Stuart to fix their recruitment & Kearney mistakes. They paid for this despite the realisation and rightly so... as long as the new admin have learnt from the errors of the past. If Stuart stays next year, we need to see if he has taken on more of that accountability. He's culled the squad, brought in outsiders to help (I'd have liked to see what Hock would have brought to the squad in terms of accountability at least in playing) and now he has to instil that same sense of accountability down to the players. From that I expect to see a remarkable improvement in their attitude to workrate and defense particularly. If Stuart goes, you can almost throw out enforced player accountability for the next 2 years and the players are yet to prove they can take the initiative to grasp it for themselves.

Then again if Stuart stays and doesn't hold himself accountable or has his mind in Canberra then we're equally f**ked. Actually moreso because it'd be another season before we realised it

You would think that a supporter of the original U20s "world-beater" Ben Hunt would understand that none of the NYC is really doing what it was planned to achieve

They don't have a nab or is it a fluke....they have a full time development officer driving a Canberra eblazoned car mainly around the Logan attending schools doing programs/camps and junior football games as well as Souths/Logan Magpies games which helps identify talent.

The Raiders are rewarded for all the $$ and hardwork they put in like the Storm were when based at Norths.

This.

Unfortunately a bitterly divided membership runs our club, and as Souths showed, that's not a recipe for success.

Would really love a "Russell Crowe" to come in and splash the cash around without a worry and stick with it. Just see what he has done for Souths and players want to go there now and play for that club.

Wonder if we could convince Hugh Jackman to become an eels fan.

Smith wasn't wanted by the players at Parra, Knights and Roosters...there is a pattern. Gen Y's don't deal with hard asses like him. If not they will leave.

You think Jamie Lyon was a 'Gen-Y'?
And he seems to have gone pretty well with every other coach he's had since Smith.
Braith Anasta was a 'Gen-Y'?
I don't think 'Gen-Y' has got much to do with anything really. I also think that 'Gen-Y's have got a bad name they don't deserve. There are lots of really good 'Gen-Y' kids out there.
