I know its odd to say that about a horse, but it was put down this morning after they confirmed that they were unable to save it

Sad news really, it was a gallant horse who was consistent over a number of years. The way it battled on to still be leading until the final 50m was a fine testament to a fine horse

Very sad.

I never rated the horse, but that was a game race yesterday!! Never a good thing to hear about any horse, it is a real shame

Mummify has always been a champion stayer and wil lforever be rembered as one.

A true champion of a horse with a tonne of heart. Personally a sad day for myself and especially my father, he has been close friends with the Freedman brothers for 20 years now and followed Mummify's career.

RIP Mummify

A sad day in the world of racing.

A fine horse is now no longer with us but will always be remembered in the hearts and minds of all individuals who were fortunate enough to watch the big fella go around.

RIP Mummify

It is sad. I remember it as a bright eyed 3yr old running around at Morphetville and absolutely blitzing them

It is amazing how attached humans can become to a horse.

  - You champion

mummify has beaten me a few times and i've always had a bias against him. but it's run on saturday made me think it was a chance in the cox. i didn't see or hear anything about it breaking down until sunday morning when i heard it had been put down

a tragic but fitting farewell to one of the great horses i have seen. it died doing what it did best. breaking the hearts of other horses who thought it would slow down at the end of the race

RIP Mummify!

my mate just told me that there is a yearling who is a full brother to mummify in South Australia

lets hope that this brother turns out half as good

it was a genuine horse. could easily have had more wins if not for getting nosed out so many times.

my biggest bet as a 17 year old was $100 on the place on shogun lodge in the epsom. it was 2 days work for my dads mate.

i was spewing when it won paying around $10 or so. but the almost $300 collect was great for someone who was about to do their HSC

i must admit, betting that amount at that age would sh*t me! I can see how people do it though

I actually had one of my bigger wins on the horses ever last saturday, had a 50 on infinite grace at juicy odds!
