Sad news out of east hull today that Hull KR legend and former Manly player Phil Lowe has passed away at age of 74. I met him a few times when he ran our local pub and he was a real gent. big man even in his older age.
410 games for HKR, 72 games for manly (25 tries) and 12 test caps for gt Britain and England.
RIP Phil.

I remember as a young fella watching him play for Manly and great Britain. An absolute weapon with ball in hand. RIP.
he was and scored a lot of tries for a forward in his era. Many consider him one of the best running second rows of all time and a bit of pioneer of the modern second row position. Also a top bloke and a real gentleman.

I remember being in his pub one night and some young lads had had a few and were being a bit obnoxious, he was a big guy and could have easily turfed them out on their ear but he went and sat next to them and had a good chat with them and asked them to please be considerate of others in the pub, the lads soon pulled there heads in. He commanded a lot of respect wherever he went.

I wonder if he was unique in winning all the major trophies?
An Ashes series
A world cup
An Australian Premiership
An England Premiership
A CC final
