Dragon Fanatic spoke to me about this on MSN and asked if I objected... I see now that this request came after DF had already posted this thread. Whats the point of asking me after the fact?
In any case, I said it was great idea and I would be happy to help out. BUT I also said that it is unwise to advertise a new comp here at Leagueunlimited just yet - this is because we are still re-building the competition. In 2004 when its all up and running here, then its a different story and I'll be happy to assist with spreading the F7s concept to other forums... but until then, we are still nuturing what we have.
While I support the idea of having another F7s forum with the potential for future 'forum rep' matches, I really urge the Rugby people to gather their players from their own membership and not to try and drain the ranks here at Leagueunlimited.
I dont have to tell everyone that we started from scratch in 2003 after teams were split into two camps... it virtually destroyed the F7s competition and if not for a lot of hard work, it would have died.
DF, I'm asking you to do the right thing here. Stick to helping the Rugby Forum if you want but do not bring it up here again. If the comp is split up again, I doubt very much that it will survive... and I have no interest in going through all the hard work to revive it a second time.
IMO, your announcement was a bit premature.
