The bloke running Peru goes at 100 miles an hour. Drive for days. They will succeed.

Debut vs Uruguay in Campbeltown on September 15

The development of RL in such a huge untapped market in South America is so exciting. Decent medium to large population sized countries with a rich history of producing amazing athletes in various sports like football, boxing, tennis and athletics etc.

Plus apart from maybe Argentina no entrenched rugby union.

Not exactly. Professionally, Argentina is the only one of note.

But through British influenced private schools and universities Rugby has been played in most of these countries for a long time. They all participate in the World Cup qualifying system through the Sudamericana Championships.

Even in the likes of Peru?, Colombia? And Chile?

Clearly it’s union.

Yes. I went back through the thread and noted the establishment backing of private schools and government support of rugby union. No such advantage afforded for rugby league! ? That's for sure!

Or American football, Gaelic football or even Aussie rules.

Thought we were discussing rugby league? Go to those respective codes website if that's your concern. I'm talking rugby league . A sport directly suppressed by big brother union in numerous ways! And if you want me to inform you of those ways I'll gladly enlighten you. You have clearly been uninformed for some time now. But perhaps deliberately don't want to know about the repression of rugby league courtesy of union power and influence on various aspects of society. Pretty sure the later applies to you? !

My comments concerned rugby league. The repression of rugby league by union is a feature of this code's struggle. It's why Rugby League is not as worldwide as it should be. Along with poor internal administration within the code itself.

If anyone knows any genuine repression of Rugby League in Peru (lol) then surely we should name and shame these people!

But if you don't, maybe stop derailing threads about actual developments with this fantasy nonsense because it detracts from the actual work actual people are doing.

The repression comes from a very pervasive and establishment based source. It has characterized plenty of other parts of the world too!? It's the education sector : mostly private school backed. Government funding or non funding is another obstacle for rugby league : Not sure if the GSAIF non recognition tact has been pulled on rugby league pioneers in Peru compared to other parts of the world like South Africa etc.?

Just a few things which have been discussed here.

1. This is 100% Rugby league.

2. The project is being mainly set up by Peru RL with assistance by Latin Heat and the Aussie Gov (who have also helped RL in Brazil, Lebanon the Pacific and other places around the world.

3. Jamie Perez (born in Lima and raised in Australia) has worked tirelessly to make this happen.

4. This thread is for RUGBY LEAGUE IN PERU! If you want to discuss Rugby union or other things please do so somewhere else
