Rleague is back

The rleague forums are back online. No disrespect here but it will be good to be home. They have a zero tolerane policy regarding controversial messgaes

I think we should maintain both forums. Owing to the strictness of rleague now I think it is wise to keep this forum for more controversial and irreverent messages. That doesn;t give yu a licence for filth here, just a licence to push the envelope without serious ramifications. Also, both forums would lead to extra publicity since some people visit this website exclusively and vice versa.

You have to re-register on rleague. See you there

I can't see much point of having two forums for the Jets as they are both "offcial". If one was a forum run by fans and another for offcial business, then that would be the way to go.

None of the forums are "official." This is not run from the club website and is not dictated by the club. Just because there is a link from the website doesn't make it the Club's possession.

Both forums are fans forums. If traffic can keep up, we should have both. rleague for serious chat and this one for both serious chat and for risky stuff.

Nice of you to ask.

Take my post concerning Marrickville Council and Henson Park. While I would always defend the truth of it and I do mean every word I posted, it could be construed as offensive by some administrators. The language etc from rleague indicates a much tougher stance that may not allow such posts as a matter of caution and not strictly legality.

It is the same with the player theft issue from the Roo Tour. Discussion has been pretty free on leagueunlimited but it is stricter on rleague.

I think this forum is reasonable in its approach. It has a good team f moderators but is more relaxed about banter etc than rleague appears to be. So I will continue to post here because I feel more comfortable.

Regarding the 'risky' stuff; I think its worth noting that rules will be become more strict next season. This is because the site is growing a fast rate and we expect a greater variety of members in 2004.
But as its been said, we never intend on adopting an unreasonable approach.

As you know, rleague shut down without warning and without giving the member sections such as the Newtown forum, an opportunity to post a forwarding address. (The Knights forum for example posted a link to LU so forum members could stick together).

Regarding 'putting a foot in two camps' suggestion.... The Newtown Jets forum was set up here at Leagueunlimited following requests to do so. We believe LU is the better option but that comes with an expected bias. ;-) The upshot is that we're more than happy to have you aboard.

In setting up the Newtown Jets forum, we 'de-merged' Newtown-related posts from the NSWRL section and transferred them into this committed forum section - and it's got off to great start!
However, I hope you can appreciate that an inactive forum doesnt look good for anyone - we can't promise that the section won't be merged back into the NSWRL forum at a later date should the posts drop off dramatically.
Please note that this is in no way a done thing... on the contrary I'm just being realistic about screen space. There's actually a few forums sections about to be merged but at this stage, Newtown isnt one of them... and I sincerely hope that the Newtown forum will be here forever.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do and post where you feel most comfortable. Remember you're always welcomed here at Leagueunlimited.

Cheers.

It's just taken me 2 days to re-register with RLeague and with most Jet-setters now camped here, I think that this is where I'll share my views on the greatest club in Oz.
