not sure how that list was worked out (maybe games played and time on the sidelines were factors) but personally i rate burgess higher than pretty much every forward ahead of him on that list except gallen.

would have cameron smith at 1 and kieran foran at 2 as well.

Clint Newton is ranked above Fui ?

Michael Monahan ranked above Chris Sandow and Dale Cherry-Evans ?

Who the f**k is David Ferriol ? A 32 year old french prop who hasn't repped for his country for 3 years and has only played 96 games in his entire career ?

Joke.

Really?

Based on what?

I know he did a big hit on Fui when he was playing for England a thousand years ago --> but what has Burgess done in the NRL to suggest that he's a even a top 100 player? Let alone a top 20...

This year:

Tim Mannah
123 meters per game
44.5 minutes per game

Sam Burgess
93 meters per game
49.25 minutes per game

Before anyone goes banging on about stats - yes, they don't tell the whole story. But especially with props they are useful when it comes to meterage. Speed of play the ball is the next most important stat for a prop (Mannah consistently rates amongst the best in the comp) --> Burgess in more minutes produced fairly underwhelming meterage.

There is simply no comparison between Burgess and Mannah - one is an Origin level prop (Mannah) one is a plodder who is overhyped and overrated (Burgess - if you're not following).

I'd strongly argue that Mitchell Allgood is a better player than Sam Burgess based on their form THIS SEASON as PROP FORWARDS.

And no, I'm not just saying that because I have blue and gold eyes - I'm saying that because Burgess was crap this season, wasn't much better last year and I really hope Souths pay him $500k to keep playing with his good mate Sutton - relegating them to mediocrity for a good many years!!

Good allocation of top 100 spots..But what does it matter. It is just someone's opinion...Obviously to create controversy and feed back. Well done RLW...

i get your point of view but from just the matches i've seen burgess play (and admittedly it isn't all of them which is why this is just my personal view), he seems to make good quality runs that oft-times result in quick plays, offloads or line breaks.

also i don't know how fui and tim didn't get a mention on that list. our forwards were pretty solid this season just gone. bizarro.
