RLWC 2013 - Your favourite moments So far

Ok I thought we could have a kind of appreciation thread when we talk about our favourite moments/highlights of the World Cup. I know there's gonna be a fair bit of crossovers, but should be fun. Here's my top 3 so far.

Game 1: England V Australia - The moment when 5 years of waiting came to an end, the bumper crowd, the solid performance from England and a great contest. If I had to chose one individual moment alone, I'd say maybe the opening try for England, as soon as Hall scored, it was game on!

Game 3: New Zealand V Samoa - One of the best internationals I have seen. Amazing passion shown by everyone involved. The players were running and tackling so hard!
Best individual moment = laughing out loud at how awesome the hit ups were off the kick off! Wow!

Game 3: Sonny Bill messing up over the dead-ball line. Hilarious stuff and the reaction from the big crowd was priceless! Got stacks of media coverage too!

:)

Anyone else?

Everything that has been said so far but I will add the French defence against PNG, never seen that from them before.

The crowd firing up at the same time Masoe and Matagi fired the Samoans up. From about the 50 min mark to the 70 min mark was some of the most entertaining football you will ever see.

The second half of NZ v Samoa... Brilliant entertainment, well done for the crowd in Warrington getting behind the Samoans!

Performance of Mose Masoe, NZ v Samao. I'm not normally one to give a MOM to a player from the losing team but he well deserved it.

The start of the first game for mine, it was a clear message from the Poms to the Aussies that they need to have respect for their opposition.
The gap between the big 3 nations isnt as big as what some people think, and that first 15-20mins from England showed that.
It was a great start for this years World Cup.

The crowd getting right behind Samoa for their fight back. That crowd was insanely good, showed that this matters to more than just the players and that nations fans.

I'm really enjoying the different anthems and the players getting into them. this morning fiji players were crying during their pray song thing and one if the Ireland players had a bottom lip tremble during their anthem.

some real emotion showing the players are taking this seriously.

The only games Ive missed are the Italy/Wales and France/PNG.

All the games Ive seen have been good and entertaining.

Full credit to Samoa for their comeback against New Zealand.

The crowds have been excellent as well.

NZ v Samoa - brilliant football from a casual observer's POV. Will be hard to follow for the rest of the cup.

Special mention: the opening 30 minutes of the Fiji-Ireland match were quality. Emotions were explosive but weren't sustained for the whole match. Disappointing, as it looked like being a fiery encounter all the way. Fiji were a tad undisciplined, and penalties kept interrupting the flow of play which probably didn't help.

Now looking forward to the Tongan match. Hoping it doesn't disappoint.

As 'new age' as this sounds I have really enjoyed the obvious passion and desire that is evident from the anthems and the war dances and build up in the pre games.

The anticipation for mine is whats its all for... The Samoans, the Welsh, the Irish and Fijians this morning.. they look the part and they look like they are absolutely loving it and they are really feeling the emotion of it.

Thats what I love about this RLWC.

In RL for some reason we never play internationals apart from these world cups, so thats why I love it too i think. Its the only time I ever get to see this part of our great game.
