Hall isnt any better trust me. I saw him play one game for the Roosters and was SH!Thouse in defence, Ricky dropped him one game later.
If Rose loses 5-10 kilos he will be a very good player IMO.

No Willow?

Surely they jest.

These jibberers wouldn't know a football from a foosball.

Mate,

It's inevidable that both Willow and Dunley will be chosen in the team, but tbh, I don't think they deserve their spots.

Willow offers very little off the bench, and whilst he could defend all day, offers very little in attack. That's why I wouldn't mind seeing young Cuthbo in there.

Also, Dunley, Matt Ballin has proved he's ready for First Grade.

But as I said, you know it as well as I do, both will be picked. I'd envisage the side looking something like this:

1. Stewart
2. Robbo
3. Lyon
4. Bell
5. Hicks
6. Burns
7. Orford
8. King
9. Monas
10. Kite
11. Beaver
12. Choc
13. Matai

14. Dunley
15. Willow
16. Bryant
17. Rose

I would go with that side at the moment. Well except for King.

I like Scuba's side, however i'd have Matai on the bench as an impact player with Cuthbertson to start (or maybe Afamasaga)

Still wouldn't surprise me the least to see players such as:

- Adam Cuthbertson
- Glen Hall
- Matt Ballin
- Sean Meaney
- Jack Afamasaga
- Jason Wells and
- Glen Stewart all playing first grade at some stage throughout 2007.

Also, may not be out of the question to see Aaron Groom debut either. An injury to Ox, and it could happen!

Hey,
reading through the forums and what i've seen.. would it be fair to say that manly fans dont rate there juniors comming through as much as other fans, or that the eagles dont have that talent pool coming through at the moment? I have heard little bits about ballin who i think was a junior bronco, but looking past stewart and watmough have you guys had that many juniors putting pressure on your top side over the last few seasons? Just interested, and for a team that invests alot on bringing in great outside players like lyon, kennedy, matt orford and bell you dont seem to have those juniors like the eels, canberra, melbourne, roosters, dragons etc. Purely just interested, not having fishing at all.

It's definately a fair statement GC. The majority of the juniors/schools in our area are Rugby Union driven, so that's makes it difficult to have a potent junior base to begin with. Our junior depth has improved over the last few years, and I have no doubt it'll only continue to get better as time progresses. Not sure about the other Manly fans here, but I've got a fair bit of faith in some of the juniors coming through (Ballin, Cuthbo, Groom etc). Having watched them in PL and JF (Groom) over the last year, they've definately got the talent to be successful in First Grade, it's just whether or not they can step up and perform.

Also, with the likelihood of this Under 20's competition happening in 2008, it places a premium on the clubs juniors, and the recruitment of more juniors from other clubs. Should be interesting to see what happens.

At the moment we have a fine crop of juniors coming through as seen by our results in the lower grades. As Scuba said Groom, Ballin and Cuthbertson seem to be the pick, as well as othes such as Meaney and Offerdahl.

i think Groom, Offerdahl and Trembath are the picks of them, but at the moment they are all at least a season away

I expect Meaney, Cuthbertson, Ballin and Wells to all figure in first grade at some stage of 07

Groom, Offerdahl, Trembath, Grieve and Berryman

Definately agree with you about Harry. He should be starting five eighth alongside Groomy in the halves in PL next year.
