Game day ... away from home :?

Can anyone say they are confident of winning this one ... not me ... unless we've all of a sudden found the fountain of youth, or at least the fountain that allows you to win games away from Bruce.

Just saw the TYC game ... we were up 18 zip after 18 mins and lost the game 18-32. It looked like we would win 100 zip but a try against the run of play left the score at 18-6 at half time ... the second half was just a real dog.

Anyway I'm going to watch FG ... not going to get all excited ... if we win it will be a bonus but if I were a betting man I'd have a few bob on the dogs.

Will be interesting to see how J.Carney goes.

26-18 to the good boys at half time.

Great attack but poor defence ... at one stage it looked like we would fall foul to the same virus that took TYC from 18-zip after 18 mins to a loss of over 30 to 18.

J.Carney looked good taking the ball up ... a real tough nugget ... set up the second try to Best shortly after the Tilse disallowed try thanks to Chris Ward that dumb arse video ref.

Weyman had a good hand in the last try just before half time when it looked like the dogs would cover our score after we got to 16-zip.

Milney playing well at FB scoring two tries backing up well to take the final pass.

Hey, even Tilsey is having a decent game ... go big boy.

Defence will win this game ... both sides have shown little of it in the first half.

Besty on fire early in the 2nd half busting through feeble tackles to set one up for Picker and taking it all the way himself for the 2nd ... a hatrick!! ... Carney converts one and the score is 36-18.

Who was it that we are letting go to the Rabbits ??

I was stunned to hear he wasn't re-signed and signed to a rival nrl club.

Easily the second-best back at the club.

Very true sheary ... would have a bit more confidence if we kept him and Weyman.

Still there are a few in TYC that might be able to make the step up ... maybe Joel Thompson in the centres might be an option.

Back to the game ...

J.Carney leaps into the clouds to mark and score and try ... T.Carney converts from out wide ... 42-18 ... 13 mins to go, just enough time to get to 50+

Two more converted tries ... one to Picker and one to Besty (his 4th !!) ... 54-18 ... Todd Carney off the ground with an ankle injury of sorts.

... shocking defence by the dogs ... you wont see worse defence in the NRL this season.

yewwwwwwwww

happy days raiders fans =]

Pretty dominant raiders performance. Defence was a little shadey at times but we got through it. Good win for the lads, never in doubt.

PS: what was the go with Tilse's No try????? Was at the pub watching and couldn't believe the call. Thankgod it didn't matter, but why is it we never get the 50/50 calls.

Best has been a monster. I'm begining to think that we should have kept him. But at the same time, I have gut feeling that this may well be a last hurrah for his career.

Whats happening with Todd Carney - he's been a virtual non-event the past few weeks. You'd think with the no7 for NSW up for grabs he'd want to pull his finger out but its been the Campo show

Very good display of footy tonight , dogs were shocking but that doesnt take anything away from what we put out on the field.
Our forwards were unstoppable , they laid the platform for our backs to run rampant, the turning point was scoring the try before halftime , its normally us that let that in , but not tonight.
Best was freakish , I dont think he could of played any better , good luck to him , Souths have bought well. Note to Taylor , he is a centre.

Congrats Raiders , Im one very happy supporter , Im sure there is many of us , no negatives tonight.

If there is one negative to come out of tonights AWAY win, was that with so much inexperience on the field, we could have come up with probably, well, we should have scored the third highest points score in an Australian Rugby League top grade match. We bombed three or four tries easily and the moron video ref who reckons Tilse did a double movement. You can add anywhere between 18-30 points on top of our 58.

Anyway, you can only play what's in front of you, and I am sick of hearing how the Broncos had this player out and that player out, and I can guarantee you, you will read and hear about how the Bulldogs had this player out and that player out. But we Raiders fans know how many are out of our team, the same team who were for the third consecutive year clear outright favourites for the wooden spoon. The same team according to many critics, saying we have the weakest roster in the NRL.

To all of you people.....

UP YOURS!

All the best,

It just seems a terrible decision by management. I think the deciding factor was that Best wanted atleast 2 years and was only offered 1. He also didn't seem to happy about the time it took them to table an offer.

For next season, at the moment it seems Canberra will be well under the cap. Why couldn't they load the first of 2year contract for Best?

It's a situation very similar to Weyman, except Best has been playing very well. I don't understand their thinking

One downside is the ankle injury to T.Carney ... Canberra Times reports ...

"Carney was hesitant to speculate last night on the seriousness of the injury, although his sombre mood was in stark contrast to the remainder of the team in the dressing rooms." ..... "Coach Neil Henry said Carney was likely to recover in time"

Note and 8 day turn-around as we play next Monday night

Mick Picker was alright in the Toyota Cup game, I'd expect him to step up if Carney is out.

We were awesome last night. Two weeks in a row we've played good footy. If we can keep it up, the sky's the limit.
