Roc tha Block
Presented by hot30 Countdown

featuring Ja Rule, Chingy, Fabolous, 112 and Mario Winans.

Quality, big-name hip hop tours are an all-too-rare occurrence Down Under.

In 2005, Roc Tha Block will remedy this situation by bringing not one, not two - but FIVE of the biggest names in hip hop to the east and west coasts for a series of hip hop spectaculars. Check ya head, and then check Roc Tha Block's stellar line up:

Ja Rule - Gravel-voiced chameleon and one of the most commercially successful rap artists of the 2000s. One minute he's bumpin' and grindin' with J.Lo, the next minute he's beefin' with 50 Cent. The omnipresent Always on Time and Livin' it Up brought Ja Rule to Australia in March 2003 - a tour that left punters and gossip mongers raving. Ja Rule's latest album R.U.L.E (home to Wonderful, featuring Ashanti and R Kelly) leaves the beefs behind, instead vibing on his blustery raps and hip hop crooning.

Chingy - Will slide into Oz after US dates with Snoop Dogg. He's a southern boy with a string of crossover hits: Right Thurr, Holidae In, and from the new album Powerballin', the Australian Top 20 single Balla Baby, and Don't Worry, featuring Janet Jackson. Chingy's tunes - and live set - are all about the fun, the ladies, and the party… if you want to get it started, he's your man.

Fabolous - The witty New Yorker, dropping smart rhymes over complex and impressive beats. On his latest long player, Real Talk, Fabolous hooks up with The Neptunes, Nate Dogg and talented newcomers. He became an overnight sensation in 2001 with I Can't Deny It, but has backed it up with Can't Let You Go, Trade it All, Not Give a F**k, Take You Home - celebrations of bling things and gangsta chic.

112 - Atlanta's R&B survivors deliver smooth harmonies over genre-hopping tracks - covering soul, hip hop and even gospel. Arriving in 1996 via Puffy's Bad Boy label, 112 have enjoyed No.1 singles stateside, while 2003's Hot & Wet album debuted at No.4 on the Hip Hop/R&B Albums chart. They're currently working on their fifth album - expect production from Jermaine Dupri.

Mario Winans - A rising star reared on gospel, but drawn to R&B. How this is for cred - Winans has recorded for Motown and Bad Boy, and has twiddled the knobs as producer for the likes of R Kelly. His latest effort, Hurt No More, is home to the US Top 5 hit, I Don't Wanna Know.

With Ja Rule, Chingy, Fabolous, 112 and Mario Winans all on the one massive Roc Tha Block bill, you're guaranteed a jam-packed night of non-stop hits from hip hop and R&B's finest. Fabolous, for one, is ready - proudly rockin' his green'n'gold "Australia" jacket in the video for his recent hit Breathe.

This concert is going to be awesome!

*Hopes their plane crashes*

And before you all jump down my throat about wishing death on people, it's Ja Rule and he is only just a person.

Good day.

I read about that concert ages ago and I can't go anyway. It's held at Bris Ent Centre and the same day as one of the Broncos trial matches.

I wouldn't mind going on that concert, but it's got Ja rule, so that changed my mind. THe lowest price of the ticket is like $100. A friend bought one for $142. That's too much.

I wanna see Chingy, 112, Mario, Fab live though. :(

When you think about it, its not that much really. it works out to be $20 for each act. I paid $135 to see Justin Timberlake. I thought it was a little expensive at the time, but it was well worth it.

Thinking about going, but not 100% yet. Seen Ja Rule live before, and he isnt that great really.

Yeah, you're right, Melstar. That's a bit cheap for each of them. But I already have footy plans that day and I ain't got money left. :(

I'd pay heaps just to see Luda and Usher though. If they're on that concert, I'd ditch footy and watch them. :D

I think they would put on a good show, I mean G-Unit and Obie came over, and even know they all suck dick when it comes to hip hop, the show was f'n amazing (I won tickets!!) But yeah these dudes all suck. ja Rule and Chingy are crap. Fab needs to learn how to spit and quit mumbling, Mario is just a R.kelly copycat and 112, well lets just say his potential interms of percentage aint as high as his name suggests. Be on the lookout for some real cats coming down this year. 1.

Nah im talking about shit on a professional level, singing, song writing, music style etc. As far as that video shit goes, f**k it, peeps do it all the time. f**ken Bulldogs gangraped a bitch but they dont deserve to get shot? Come on now. As far as that goes, its nunofmy buisness, therefore i dont comment on the R.Kelly fiasco. I would also like to bring up that Woody Allen molested and married his own step daughter, do we get on his back?????????????

112 is a band BTW. Four members. ;) Out of all those acts, I'd wanna see them, they have some awesome slow jams. They remind me of Boyz II Men, which is a good thing.

Never heard of the song "Dance With Me"? It got pretty popular.

I prefer Boyz II Men more than 112 though. They are the best...EVER.
