Rock songs for newbie guitar players

Been playing guitar for a couple months, self teaching at the moment. What are some good older rock songs that are easy to play and good for beginners? There has to be a few guitarists out there who can give me some songs.

Nirvana - come as you are was the first song i ever learnt or are u talking older?

also think the intro for metallica's one,Enter Sandman and seek and destroy are quiet easy and fun but the rest is pretty hard

Nirvana and Hendrix are both good for beginners. You'll learn basic chord structures as well as some lead to coincide with the chords.

For Nirvana start with Come as you are, then Teen Spirit then advance to On a Plain or Lithium.

For Hendrix, start with Hey Joe, then Fire, then Foxy lady....then advance to Little wing, probably Hendrix most complicated song.

After you've mastered these bands throw yourself in the deep end and learn the likes of Metallica, Van Halen, Gunners.......then it's welcome to hair heaven, the best of the best guitarist wise!

Black Sabbath are a great starting point. Learn Iron Man since everything but the solo is quite easy to play.

Infected by Bad Religion is good to learn a simple power chord rhythm.

cool thanks. I have tried playing some of the newer metal, some of it i can play but most of it i cant. I think i should try a few lessons.
