The Rock is set for a return at Wrestlemainia 21

An update on Dwayne Johnson, who is still in Prague, Czech Republic filming a movie. He is planning on wrestling at Wrestlemania in Los Angeles and hopes the company comes up with a good storyline for his return. He's been studying 70s and 80s wrestling videotapes during his down time, in particular the old Memphis, Dallas, and Portland territories.

"I absolutely love it" he said. "The ideas I'm getting from them are amazing. Creativity plus simplicity (for the fans to easily absorb) plus passion equals success.It should be mandatory for the boys to watch (70s and 80s tapes from all over the world). They have no idea how much that would help them. When the babyfaces sold, the people felt it. When the heels got heat, the people believed it"

He returns to U.S. in January after this current movie finishes up. He'll spend February promoting "Be Cool" with John Travolta and Uma Thurman. He's working on a daily for Sony movie that he'd start shooting in May, and has a finalized deal for a big movie this summer.

But I just hope he stays for a few months after Wrestlemania, and him not to just be a one match person every year.

Yeah, if he just comes back to wrestle a gimmick match at Wrestlemania, I'll be disappointed. He really needs to stick around. WWE is struggling without charismatic, over main eventers.

Its hardly fair on the other wrestlers that The Rock can just show up and get a match at Wrestlemania while mid-carders like Charlie Hass who work hard all year, may miss out because it...

I hope the Rock does stay after this though, butI think he should be put on smackdown, they need him there.

if ratings are down, then why not get the rock? he can wrestle great and his mic skills are incredible..

charlie may have worked hard but that doesnt always translate into a decent wrestler, charlie has no persona and i couldnt care who he fights..the rock on the other hand can make anything watchable for non wrestling fans.

if the best they can get out of the rock is 5 appearances a year then why not take em...its not like 10mins of air time of him is gonna cripple the younger guys looking for a shot.

i disagree, its not pointless, its gives fans that have put up with ALOT of shit something they want, people want to see the rock wrestling, promoing, hell id settle for a Rocks greastest moments on every raw, the more rock the better, if he can get 4 months in then sweet, if he can only muster one or two shows, thats cool by me too :mrgreen:

Well I still think its pretty stupid just to have him turn up for 2 shows, then leave again. It would be good for ratings and I would like to see him turn up on RAW and Wrestlemania....But if he can stay for a few months and bring up some great story lines I would be the happiest man in the world.

i agree, stay for 3-4 months if possible, otherwise stay in hollywood and stay out of wrestling

at this time wrestling needs a little more push..if the rock can delieve then why not?

i dont know why so many people are against him returning, its not like every story at the moment is good..besides the main ones in SD and RAW..having the rock come back and even if it means just talking or being a commentator it would still be decent.
