Hey all. Just like to say that i bumped into Ronald Prince on sat. night in coogee. He seemed pretty cool and we talked for about 30 mins.
Basically he said how hungry they all are to redeem themselves for this years poor season.
he pointed out that grothe junior has been training his arse off, and that hindmarsh in his eyes is the best forward in the world.
i asked him what the hell is wrong with vella and he said " his head is in the clouds".......i guess we have plenty of forward depth now so who cares.
i wished him the best of luck and told him that all us eels freaks are waiting for that loooooong overdue premiership.

It wont be there for long if he has to sit on the bench, in Premmy League.

I would have thought failing to even make the Kangaroos train on squad with so many players unavailable would have done that.

It's a shame because if we get Vella back in the same form that saw him picked in the rep sides we could really give the comp a shake next season. I think we will anyway but still it would help if Vella could contribute positively as well.

It's amazing for some people how a big $$$ contract can offset the sadness that would otherwise motivate you onto better things...

Let's hope he pulls his finger out this year, or it's premier league for him with the forward depth we'll have.

Please people......stop it. We don't want Mick Vella feeling sad inside now do we. These savage attacks will only bring sadness.

Someone asked Mick last year during one of those "regular" player chats on the members site if the plays read the forum. He basically replied "Forum??". So i think you could say what you wanted and he would never a) know, b) care.

I know he probably wouldn't read any of this. You just never know. What about the old saying.....A sad player is a bad player.

Vella needs a rocket up his arse. Brian Smith doesn't seem willing to give it to him. We may as well. Because I'd love to see Mick EARN another big contract!

However, it seems that the determination is there in the playing staff to make amends at dismal season's past. I guess the players admitting it makes a mockery of all the tripe last year about them trying their hardest. Some, like Prince, had good seqsons. I'm sure we will see more iof himmin the top grade, and it wouldn't surprise me to see him as custodian in the finals, IF we are fortunate to make them.

However, the spirit and determination seems there, so on that score 2004 is looking better already.

GO EELS!!!!

Great news, the boys sound pumped for 2004! I never wanna see a season like 2003 from our boys again.

Micky V has been really dissapointing over the past season & a bit. It makes you p*ssed off because we all know what he's capable of. The last time I can remember him really at his near best was that game Vs Brisbane in the 2002 finals as Captain, he really led the team that night.
I just hope he pulls his finger out in 04, or I'm all for him stayin in Prems.

One of the reason why Mick wasn't selected for the Kangaroos train on squad was if I remember correctly he had done his knee - wan't he wearing a brace and hobbling on crutches for the last three games of the season. By saying that he form definately would not have got him picked anyway. Like a lot of players at the Eels he has been very injury proned over the last 2 seasons. Here's hoping for a better 2004 for Mick and the Eels.
