Someone posted on PI saying that Brandy said on 2UE that Rooney won't be playing First Grade regardless of how he pulls up after City/Country.

If thats the case i applaud Elliotts decision to pick Daniela ahead of him. He has ignored the stupid decision by the City selectors and picked his team on what he has seen this year in Penrith colours.

This could be a blessing in disguise for Luke. If he has a good game for city it could rejuvenate his career. On the other hand....................

lets hope the same does not apply to luke lewis who also has been named outside of the 17.With lewis in there its a strong bench

Last night I was listening to Kick FM and they said Rooney would NOT play on saturday at all but Lewis had to pass a fitness test on Saturday before lining up on Saturday night.

It was also implied on NRL Teams on Fox Sports last night, given that Rooney will not have an overly heavy workload playing on the wing.

I thought it was just Elliott covering his bases on the provision that if either could back up, they would just drop other players off the bench. But if Rooney is not going to play regardless, why name him in the squad?
