Rooney replaces Minichiello

There is unconfirmed reports that Luke Rooney has been called into the Origin side to replace Minichiello.

Thats great news for Rooney, well done son if its true.

But this is unlucky for Kurt Gidley. Named 18th man, 2 players been dropped and still cant make the 17, what is the point of having an 18th man then?

Daniel Russell is 18th man for the Panthers, wonder what the lineup will look like now?

IfSwain will be lock, Girds will move back to the centres, and Danny will be the new five-eighth.

I think gidley's inclusion as the 18th man was an experience and encouragment thing more that anything. The fact two players have been dropped and he still not in the 17 just confirms that.

If you remember back a few weeks Frank Pritchard was the 18th man for NZ and despite the fact about three players pulled out of that side he still didn't get into the 17.

Yes that's true CP and as Parra_panther said above ... lucky Knights have the bye. I wonder if he would have been the 18th man if they didnt have a bye? It's all very well to get experience and be acknowledged but they still have a club to represent.

Timmins is too slow for the centres now.

For the Panthers lineup, it should be Girds to centre, Russell to 5/8 and Galea on the wing. They are playing Girds at 5/8 and Russell at centre with Galea on the wing. All out of position.

It would seem right to put Russell at 5/8 as he plays in the halves and Girds at centre because well he is a centre.

Weird move by Lang... :?

i'll bet my last $2 that Russell will be playing five-eight during the game and girds will be in the centres.
