Here are some player ratings (out of 10) that a poster on another forum gave the Kangaroos for their game against England A. Note Kimmorley's score and comments.

Lockyer 7 (safe as houses, though not inspirational)
Sing 5 (dodgy at rep level)
Hegarty 5 (error prone all night... sh!te)
De Vere 6 (ordinary... how does this bloke ever get rep honours?)
Lewis 6 (tried hard)
Gower 6 (tosser)
Kimmorley 7 (great break to set up Ockers 1st try)
Clinton 6 (average)
Buderus 7 (threatened occasionally)
Civoniceva 5 (a complete plank of wood)
Fitzgibbon 6 (worked hard and didn't miss a kick)
Simpson 6 (average)
Ricketson 7 (tackled all night... no surprises there)

Kearns 8 (best Ocker player by miles)
Waterhouse 6 (didn't notice him much)
Crocker 7 (useful effort)
Mason 6 (utterly overrated lumphammer)

This was followed by "Kimmorley was one of the few aussie players who looked up for it, IMHO. Gardner try, Kimmorley was the ONLY one in sight chasing back."

The Gardner try was a non issue with regards to chasing back.

He is lightning quick and I doubt any of the Roos would be able to match him over that kind of distance. Once he had taken the ball facing the Aussie try line with their attacking line ahead of him and facing the wrong way it would have been impossible for him to be stopped.

I would agree with the top player being Kearns, he is surely going to start the Tests with Webcke. Mason was again put on his booty when he came on, this time by a 19 year old  He is useless unless the pack has a definite forward momentum going for it. From the standing start he had a few times they made him look silly. Kimmorly had a decent game with good distribution and he made a couple of breaks. Gower on the other hand looked poor by comparison and was charging about like a crazed animal for the whole game until he finally got his fight and was binned late on. He's lucky to be picked for the Wales game I think.

I think the side for the game against Wales looks far stronger though, and I would expect them to start running the points up easily in the second half. That was the most disappointing thing about the England A game from the Aussies perspective because they would be expected to run home easily towards the end, but if it had gone on for 5 minutes longer they would have lost such was England's domination late on.

The England A game gave us all the hope that possibly this could be the year, but with Waite's selection policy I doubt that will happen. The future certainly looks rosy for GB though. This is the first year for ages that the team has not picked itself and there is a genuine debate raging about all but a couple of positions.

Gower should be playing in the no.7 not Kimmorley period. Of course Kimmorley is going to have a good game if he's playing in his preferred position. Put him at 5/8th and see how well he goes. Too many players are playing out of position. Centres playing wing, hookers playing 5/8th, wingers playing fullback etc. Anderson has no idea.

Yes he did, but he wasn't sprinting at the finish either. There was no-one on earth who could have prevented that try. Not even the likes Donovan Bailey or Ato Bolden!

It was a try once he had picked the ball off his toes.

i agree, noone was going to catch him, but kimmorley's objective was forcing him to score out wide... hence slowing down after he achieved that.
