Roosters into Grand Final

Omg, I so did not want them there!! Thing is now, is there a team who can beat them? I'm a bit dusty on the Panthers defensively, but the Warriors could be the ones that can nail them.

I have this really bad feeling that the Roosters will be holding that trophy up again. It's going to haunt me all week.

No, they got some injuries tonight, the Dogs went down fighting at least, Fittlers in abit of trouble as is Fitzgibbon.
The Warriors or Penrith will be too strong for them next week.

FITZGIBBON IN DOUBT FOR GRAND FINAL
27/9/03

Sydney Roosters second rower Craig Fitzgibbon may be in doubt for next week's Grand Final after sustaining a thumb injury in tonight’s victory over the Bulldogs.

The goal kicker, who returned three weeks ago from what was expected to be a season-ending knee-injury, played his first match in the starting side since returning.

Fitzgibbon cracked a thumb during a bruising encounter at Aussie Stadium.

Darn about the Roosters being in the Grand Final - the Bulldogs were smashed to bits early and never recovered. Full credit to the Roosters - I don't like them but they blew the Bulldogs off the park with four-man gang-tackles that obliterated the Bulldog's go-forward.

They just couldn't match them, and looked tired.
I'm hoping the Warriors make it through, even though the Panthers is the team I'm going for - work that out.
The Warriors may have a better chance of matching them up front, and have the personnel to create havoc near the try-line.

But then again I'd love to see the cup stay in Australia, but out of the Roosters' hands - go Panthers.

Fittlers shoulder went on him again too, who ever plays them will be trying their guts out to take him out of the game as soon as possible.

If the Warriors get up tomorrow I'd say that the main role of Richard Vilisanti will be to go after Fittler - he looked almost useless towards the end there, which makes me wonder why on earth he is out there.

But you're right - send a big man or two his way regularly, make him do some tackling (just like the Knights in 2001) and keep him busy.

The thing about the Roosters is Fittler didn't play a dominating role tonight and look at the performance they put in. It's going to be such a tough ask for the Warriors or the Panthers to win against them.

Their defense is A grade. Boy i wish we could defend like that. The Dogs hardly made a clean break in the first half, that's how brutal they were.

Their whole game is first rate. The only weaknesses I see are Chris Walker (defensively mostly) and Fittler's dodgy shoulder.

Indeed. It makes me wonder what the secret is. The Knights have the size, the talent (every starting forward is representative material) and coach to put together a good defence - but they can't.

Meanwhile of course, the Roosters are setting the standard - they're dominanting sides with brutality and sheer physical presence. The Bulldogs kicked within their own 15 in one of the early sets tonight (might have been the first one), and the trend pretty much continued all night.

The Bulldogs side are a good side - don't forget this fact. But just like us, they were blown away in the forwards and couldn't produce the kind of defence that the Roosters displayed throughout.

It makes me realise how unlucky we were to meet the Roosters first round - perhaps if we had met the Panthers we might have progressed further. In any case eventually you have to play the Roosters - the Bulldogs played them tonight and were blown away.

I don't think either side produced a decent kicking game tonight - Wing's 40-20 was good, but really their kicking probably wasn't there.

I think Ricky will keep Freddie out of it for the softening up period, and let some of the Panthers/Warriors forwards tire out a bit first, then Freddie will start to get into it.
I think if Ricky coaches a very tactical game he could get a 2nd premiership.

Much as I dislike the Goosters you have to hand it to them, they are the benchmark side at the moment, and I think that may be the case for the next couple of years, the only team that could get within cooee of them ATM are the Warriors, and even they are suspect in some areas of their game. What gets me about them is they are still in the market for some of the better class players going around, and looking to sign a couple for next season! How do they do it? I supose success does attract players ( Walker for instance) who are prepared to accept lower payments just to play with a quality side.
Their performance last night was dominating they out played the Dogs in every department, they are fit, aggresive, and have a coach who is fast getting a reputation for being able to come up with a game plan to suit any occasion, he completly out foxed Folkes last night, starting crocker instead of Finch. He just seems to be able to get the best out of his players, you only have to look at Morley, Crocker, and Hegerty to see how he's turned them from poorly disiplined players into valuable contributors every week. Morley had a fine game last night, but MOM for mine would have been Wing, he was at his best last night, great dummy half play, good kicking game, took on the line, and kept his team on the front foot through out the game. I'm sticking to my original tip, Goosters to beat the Warriors next week in the Grand Final.

Ricky seems to have that quality in his personality that inspires players to find and do their best for him, he is also a tactical genius that gets an opposition team to play to his strengths, did he captain Australia?
Probably did .

Stuart comes accross as a no nonsense, won't take any crap sort of bloke, which is ideal for a coach, I also don't think he tries to be "one of the boys" and that is the best way to be if your coaching/supervising people. You only have to look at Chris Walker to see Stuarts methods work, Walker stomped all over Langmack at Souths, I'd say he knew right from the word go with Stuart, "do that here and your out" or words to that effect!

Hopefully the auditors will beat you. :D

The Broncos maybe doing a Roosters.

They could be calling all our players in & saying we are going to pay you $40,000 a year for your contract.

And the NRL can't say that is not allowed as they agreed to it for Chris Walker at the Roosters, even though at the time Walker was a current Origin Player.

Our Salary Cap dramas are SOLVED.

As much as I can't stand the roosters, I can't stand canterbury more.

Out of the 4 teams that played on the weekend, only one ARL club was there. So a small part of me wants the roosters to win. But I guess super league is in the past and alots changed, so I'll be cheering on the panthers this weekend.
