Roosters Penalties

At least someone is questioning this in the media.
Thanks Gus.
So what now?

3. Penalties — why the Roosters?
Much has been written about the number of penalties conceded by the Roosters this season and the trend of recent years that has seen the Roosters as one of the most penalised sides in the NRL. It is odd considering the constant changes in coaches and players that continually occur at NRL clubs, including the Roosters, that one club would regularly feature in this position each year. However, what is even stranger is that this same club, again through a myriad of coaches and playing rosters, is also among the clubs receiving the least amount of penalties. Since 2008, the Roosters have had a negative penalty differential of 240, a whopping 148 worse than their nearest rivals, Canterbury. Since 2000, through six coaches and the introduction of 251 new players into their first-grade ranks, the Roosters have only finished higher than eighth on the penalty differential table once in 14 seasons and have not finished higher than 14th since 2007. It's very rare to see such a statistical anomaly continue over such a long period of time, given the large turnover of personnel during this period.

Nothing will change. We will still get told the same crap from opposition fans and officials like ruck dominance or lack of discipline etc. When we are on top of the comp and all the alleged reasons are proven to be false (like this year) we will be told that we give penalties away on purpose because it “benefits us”.

It's gotten worse since Nick quit the ARL Partnership Board.

Watch this Saturday night with Shane "Lover of Vermin" Hayne in charge of our game, we will get murdered.

Chook.

Roosters are a prime example of a team who can win despite the penalty count being against them, ironically when they lost the penalty count they also lost the game.

It really is a mystery.

Each year thee is normally a team that can't cop a trick. A few years ago it was the Raiders.
But to see one team over such a long time to be on such a hiding is really surprising?
