Can't even spell your own teams name properly. ;-)

No wonder they lost. ;-)

Plus they are now stealing the Rooster crowing noise. ;-)

Were you at the game holla? From my understanding, we went out to a decent lead and then let them in at the end? If thats the case, the poor bastards will be feeling Ricky's rath this week.

Oh well, a trial down and the boys will be better for the hit out.

It was a trial. The first Grade Easts players barely had 30 minutes on the field. Ignore Holla. Walker Scored 3 including an 80m job. Dorn went well. Cross bombed several as well as score one. Looks bigger than last year, and terrorised the Naughts.

All in all a comfortable win for Easts in 1st Gear...hey its a trial.

Sounds all good. Still don't think Ricky will be happy with letting a big lead go though but, as you say - a trial - and the boys will all be better for it. Glad to hear Dorn went well. Did Byrne play at all? 8-[

The "big lead" was at its largest 12 points. It was tit for tat after the first 10 minutes, with the Knights getting to within 4 points a few times, before the Roosters would score again and go back out to 10.

It was a pretty exciting game, and up until the 70 minute mark I thought the Knights could snatch it... but then the Roosters shot out again, and it was too late for the Knights to get back that far.

Standouts for the Roosters were Dorn, Cayless, Fitzgibbon and Walker (who played better at Fullback later in the second half).

btw, Todd Byrne wasn't there, and Cross did look good at times. Gavin Lester started on the other wing, and was ordinary (as always).

Thanks for clearing that up. I was only going by what I heard which, unfortunately being in Warriors territory, isn't much as they seem to forget theres 14 other teams in the NRL. :x

I hate to be pedantic, but we were up 24-12 before the Naughts got it back to 24-20. However, we then got it out to 36-20, and the Naughts put on a late one to end the game at 36-26.

Walker took the intercept right in front of us before racing to the other end for his first try. Good thing he took it because if he hadn't, the six points would have gone to the Naughts. Cross did all the work for his second one. It was about that point the Naughts fans stopped giving it to him.

From memory, we were without Fittler, Wing, Morley, Hegs?

Naughts we missing Joey, Matt Gidley, Kennedy, O'Davis, Tahu (and then some).

There was a bit of feeling in the game for a trial. Good to see things haven't changed.

And lastly...it was good to see Hodges back on the field.

18 Days, 20 Hours, 7 minutes to go...I'm excited!

Look fair enough melon
All im jotting down is the roosters ran 10 from the grand final side and Newcastle ran some up and comers against a team of the games "supposed" stars
2 kicks hit the post and an Intercept try that will either stick or not and you have the makings of a huge upset
36-26 against the kind of opposition that played-I bet Ricky is flogging them behind the scenes
You cant tell me your happy with that scoreline!
Ifs and buts of coarse but still-less than 3 weeks to go

At the end on the day it was only a trial which means so long as no one gets injured or charged with a felony over the weekend then a loss is as good as a win. Unless of course your with the Rabbitohs. ;-)

Point being that from all accounts both teams seemed to have a good hitout and should be primed for the season opener.
