Farah is a champion. Great game.

Carney had possibly the worst game by a NSW half i have ever seen.

I thought we outplayed QLD everywhere on the park bar on our right fringe. Gallen, Tamou, Bird and Merrin were immense up the middle and Hayne and Jennigns carved up the left fringe.

But they simply had the class in the key positions to captilise on bullshit ref calls.

Worst players on the field were Carney and Buhrer. Williams is a beast, Uate was terrible in the first half but improved immensely in the 2nd. Drop Creagh/Buhrer for Prop/Watmough and we take game 2 IMO.

Right side of NSW was terrible. It's weird, NSW can dominate games but still don't really ever look like scoring...

i disagree about merrin, thought he was very average and tamou was alot better when he was on

NSW played very well, and a few decisions went against them, but NSW were stiltheir own worst enemy.
Failing to find touch from a penalty and Pearce throwing passes to QLD amongst others.

Uate was absolutely horrible in defense. If he didn't attack as well as he does, he'd be dropped. He can't read the play at all and left his man open on the outside numerous times. I'd drop Creagh for Watmough....I can't see why Tim Mannah was left out. Surely there's got to be somebody better than Buhrer...he didn't contribute anything.

T-Rex should have been on the field before half time.

NSW dominated possession and field position, but rarely looked like scoring. Their only two tries were arsey efforts off kicks.

Uate needs to be schooled on defence

 Bulls**t ref calls.

Man up, you won the penalty count (pretty much all soft calls), had all the possession and you couldn't put us away.

We were off the pace but we have the experience to hold on and have the class to put you away when we have to. JT continues to make a case as the best halfback at this level & Tate summed up what it meant to be a Maroon.

Blues did their state proud but they have some ways to go.

The decision to take the two points in the first half was a poor choice, and Carney's failure to find touch from that penalty was a big turning point.

I thought Tamou, Farah, Gallen, Hayne and Bird were all very good. Carney had a shocker.

Very happy for Farah, he's put to bed the myth that he can't perform at this level.

We went backwards with Tamou off the field, he was punching through the line and had Qld on the back foot nearly every run. We need another prop off the bench so we dont lose that momentum that has been created.

NSW forwards were dominate.

Their halves were however terrible. TERRIBLE.

Didn't even look like setting up a scoring play.

Tate was robbed of MoTM. Half the players on either team probably deserved it more than Myles.

We lost it with our own stupid mistakes again

1) Jennings is a f**king moron for what he did. Deserved to be binned, ruined our momentum.
2) How can you not find touch from a penalty in SOO?
3) Absolutely absurd choice to take a penalty goal 40m out.
4) Extremely poor pass by I think Glen Stewart ~ 35m? out from QLD's line to nobody, with Matt Scott diving on the ball.
5) Pearce's beautiful ball, to Cameron Smith

What made it the most heartbreaking was that we looked to be on top for a large part of the game, but still couldn't come out on top when it mattered.

Standouts/positives/stepped up:

Tamou
Gallen (besides 3) above)
Hayne
Morris
Farah (Is T.T the bitch in this relationship?)
Tate (excellent)
Thurston

Bad:

Buhrer (more as a choice than anything else)
Creagh (as above)
Jennings (can't forgive him for that idiotic event)
Slater/Uate not at their best

Anyway's great game as usual. NSW lifted a lot and QLD were pretty flat last night on the go forward and under the high ball -That stadium roof needs to be painted! But NSW being pussies and going for the 2 points was a huge example of their lack of ability to score against QLD even with good meters and sweeping plays. I just don't think Carney was good enough still -missed 2 pretty basic kicks and was lacking in confidence & composure. Soward may have been the better 6 looking back? I expect Ricky will address these and would think game 2 could be favoured towards NSW also

Why was T-Rex put on SOOO late? He did so much damage as did Tamou... Farrah was brilliant too and Burrah just gave him a rest (not sure why he needed it when our No.9 played for 80 coming off the flu!) Bad interchange choices for Blues...

The last try: Like it or not it clearly comes off Farah's boot>Not played at by Inglis> was anyone's to pounce on. Inglis should have just taken his time to score there anyway, rather rush the put down. Score board was still going to be 10-12 also, NSW did not score in the last 7 minutes, so don't go blaming refs who were letting NSW lay all over QLD a LOT, but penalised us for it. -The team who made better use of the limited opportunities in attack won it in the end.

Pretty good effort from both teams still. Going to be a long 3 weeks!

Forwards went quite well but momentum slowed when Tamou came off and Merrin, Creagh, Buhrer were on. Surely there are two or three more props that can be almost as good or as good as Tamou? Merrin isn't up to it. Creagh definitely isn't.

Enough with the 8 minute players. All picking Buhrer did was weaken the bench and probably shatter his confidence. How long since he has played hooker? He has been good playing back row for Manly for the last 10 weeks so why pick him as back-up hooker?

Backline was great, bar Carney. Starting front row were excellent.

Most worrying sign was we only scored off QLD's mistakes. Halves had little creativity and opportunities for Stewarts, Lewis, Williams etc were limited. Most of the breaks came through Jennings or Hayne.

Why do we keep expecting instant succes from our halves? Carney will come good, unless we're dumb enough to treat him the same way we have all the other halves we've tried and dumped.
