Well the last time Smith played 5/8 for the eels against the cowboys in Townsville (round 6, 2017), we won 26 to 6

He has won 7 from 11 in his career when playing in the halves.

Admittedly, most of those were in 2014 when he had Jamie Soward to do all the kicking.

Call me crazy - I don't mind Smith at 5/8.

He's more dangerous with the ball than Salmon, on account of his running game.

Having said that, it is pretty cold to drop Salmon.

Haven’t seen much of salmon to suggest he’ll be a decent first grader. Yeah he can defend but that’s only one aspect of the game.

I agree re Smith. He should prove to be a little more dangerous than salmon. Let’s just hope there’s no brain farts.

yeah he was. Not sure today but usually you'll find the halves wear different coloured shirts. This is so they are easier to identify in the drone footage. Orange is injured
