Feel like I've seen this song and dance before. Brisbane/Gold Coast, Sunday afternoon game, Broncos raging hot favourites only for the Gold Coast to produce their best performance. It's a tale that's as old as time, it's certainly older than me so the Broncos will need to be patient.

No Kotoni Staggs this week. Kotoni suffered a rib injury against the Sea Eagles and despite putting his hand up, Walters decided to ice him. I'm sure the decision was made much easier following the debut of Karaipani who played well. Billy Walters also returns after spending a week off to nurse his wrist injury. It sounds like an injury he'll have to deal with for the rest of the year, so we'll see if he's able to produce his best footy in spite of it.

Walsh was in doubt earlier this week, but it sounds like he'll be right to play. A lot of talk this week has centered around him buying an eight bedroom home, so it sounds like he's setting down roots in the south east. Walsh has yet to commit to the Broncos but all the early mail suggests he'll remain at the club.

This will shape as a big game for Walsh as in the corrosponding game, Walsh was hit with a three game suspension after lashing out at the referee. Walsh is still a little erratic, but it appears he showed a cooler pair of heels against the Eels, if he can develop his decision making aspect, the sky will be the limit for the fullback.

Dear sweet baby Jesus, don't let the boys take this game lightly. The Titans have a history of lifting for this and we need our attack to improve immensely on last week, while remaining firm in defence.

Gold Coast Titans 36 def. Brisbane Broncos 34 (Payne Haas, Corey Oates, Deine Mariner, Brendan Piakura, Ezra Mam, Selwyn Cobbo tries; Jock Madden 5/6 goals)

7-5

The curse is real, Gold Coast well down on troops, lose a player early, Brisbane with a commanding lead and they still drop their bundle.

An embarrassing loss on all fronts. Defensively the edges were torn apart with ease with the left edge in particular being easy pickings for the opposition.

Bring back Hoeter or whoever. Karapani needs to go. Don't care he's a rookie. That was inexcusable for a professional. As putrid as we were as a team, the game was still ours if he picks the right passing options. Bombed two. First over Oates head, second to Oates outside instead of Mam inside. Then drops it cold with the game on the line.
Mam and Walters both dropping it cold in attacking position as well. We are so far from the team we were last year.

Bring back Hoeter or whoever.
Tore his ACL, out for the year.

We may see Mariner push into the centres with Karaipani shifting to the wing like he does for Burleigh. Another option is Israel Leota from the Souths Logan Magpies who scored a hat-trick in last week's loss to the Tigers.
