Guess we're never gonna get rid of Blake Lawrie now. He slows up our attack so much when he comes on. I can't understand how Flanno doesn't see that. He also wanting to ball hog as well and stuffs up our plays by getting in the way of passes.

Lawrie could be playing some minutes because Flanno has him in the shop window and hoping some team will be impressed and somehow speak to his manager to get him over to them. The only issue with this theory is that you need the player to play well to get them interested. He would be great in the English Super League. Maybe that is where they are hoping will get some interest to get him over.

The biggest issue for us to get the win on Sunday is our defence.
DCE will be sending plenty of traffic down our left side, and if our defence is not switched on all game, the points will follow.
Plus playing in front of a full house at Brookvale is another big issue for us to contend with.
Everyone knows they will get all the 50/50 calls, plus the penalties.
I really think it will take the rest of this season and another full off season under Flanagan to fix our defensive structures.
Also the ongoing need to reshape our roster.
A bit the same as what has happened at the Dogs.

You hear this “shop window” a lot on this forum. However, how do you get a regular first-grader to leave your club early? By playing them in reserve grade so they’re agitated. That’s how most clubs get their unwanted players off their books by asking for a release. So I don’t think that’s the case. Just my opioin

Yep. The shop window theory is bogus. Flanno wants to win games. He's not going to supposedly carry a player on the bench just to show them off to prospective buyers, and he's certainly not going to give him more minutes than any other bench player in that case (which he did on Friday). Sorry to add some more liquid to all the wet nappies in this forum but perhaps Flanagan likes what Lawrie offers? He did make 130 odd metres last week

Yep 130m but stops like he has hit a brick wall when he meets the defense , then gets rolled over creating slow play the ball , never bends the line , can't recall him making a break ...... Nice guy but not built for todays game , as someone mentioned England would suit him ........ Once Flanno signs some forwards next year can't see him being in top grade ........

Of the running forwards against the tigers Lawrie was considerably lower than the other forward.
Everyone bar Lawrie and Eisenhuth (a noted low metre carrier) were over 9m per carry ... Lawrie was just over 7m

Had 141 metres on the weekend but averaged 7 metres per run. That is not good. You add in slow play the balls, the demanding of the ball when we've just made a break and him killing all momentum, his demanding of the ball when we're within 10-20m of the opposition line. I just don't understand how he can be thought of as good

Spot on & the defensive line is set for the next tackle. Teams are happy to let lawrie make 'meters' it limits the impact of our other forwards. Seeing him waddle to get back onside in defence if pretty funny tho.

The game will be decided by the kick quality from each half back. DCE is a gun kicker so our back 3 have to get their positioning spot on. Hunt has been pretty poor but turned it around last week & he needs that same quality this week.

Unfortunately, he got turtled in every one of those carries, which meant an extremely slow play the ball and loss of momentum. The worst examples were when he kept hitting it up when we were attacking the Tigers try line. He would have to have the slowest play the
ball of any middle in the whole comp. Compare him to Molo or Debellin and it feels like Sloooooow mooooootion.

Unfortunately as most already know on here Lawrie hits the defensive line and just caves in...doesn't attract many defenders because they know he goes to ground quickly and has a very slow play the ball.....has zero leg drive and doesn't have an offload in him.....it's disappointing as it seems he's a very good club man but imo hasn't developed the way most thought he would.....the pace of club games today is almost Origin like and blokes like Lawrie are struggling to be effective...
