Named team for Broncos with extended bench to account for Origin.

1 - Hoffman
2 - Winterstein
3 - Glenn
4 - Folau
5 - Yow Yeh
6 - Lockyer ©
7 - Wallace
8 - Tronc
9 - McCullough
10- Setu
11- Te'o
12- Thaiday
13- Parker
14- Hunt
15- Gillett
16- Dodds
17- Sims
18- Kenny
19- Anderson
20- McGuire

I think Sims, Anderson and McGuire justified a spot on the bench last week, but it's a tough decision for Henjak with the way the team is playing currently...

Hopefully we'll be able to test ourselves against a full strenght Penrith, to see where we really are atm.

From that team I would like to see this run out:

1 - Hoffman
2 - Winterstein
3 - Glenn
4 - Folau
5 - Yow Yeh
6 - Lockyer ©
7 - Wallace
8 - Tronc
9 - McCullough
10- Sims
11- Te'o
12- Thaiday
13- Parker
14- Hunt
15- Gillett
16- McGuire
17- Anderson
18- Dodds/Norman - Cover for Thaiday and Locky

If Kenny is fit to play then I would give him some time in the Qld Cup because he hasn't played in ages.

Kenny to play tomorrow night:

Nick Kenny Back In

NICK Kenny has finally won the injury battle and will play against the Panthers tomorrow night, Ivan Henjak tells Bronco TV today.
However Lagi Setu will be rested after a bad bout of concussion and Scott Anderson will safeguard bruised ribs, with Josh McGuire to head back to Queensland Cup for Norths Devils.
But the good news is Kenny will play his first match since round four after two setbacks from a calf injury.
And he ran strongly at training this morning, meaning either Kenny, Ashton Sims or Mitchell Dodds will replace Setu in the line-up.
The Broncos will play the Panthers at the earlier time of 7pm in the first game of the Suncorp Stadium double header that will also feature the Bulldogs and Titans (8.45pm kick-off).

Not sure if Kenny should be coming straight back in the team after a lengthy injury. Although it did happen last year also and I think he came back strongly.

Yeah. It is a tough question cause the other two props(Sims, Dodds) offer impact off the bench where as Kenny is a starter. I don't think we'll be let down by whatever Ivan decides to do. I'm also interested to see if Tronc's offloading bonanza against souths was a flash in the pan or will it continue. He might not be the boring slug everyone thinks.

That was ridiculous. The refereeing was atrocious but we shouldn't have let it down to the referee anyway. Between that 60 and 70 minute mark it was just continuously one out stuff, and we didn't spread the ball.
None of the forwards were going hard, there was no intensity, and it looked like we just werent interested tonight. Hoffman, Sims and Tronc looked like the only ones who wanted to play tonight.

3. Hoffman
2. Tronc
1. Sims.

Didn't deserve to win, but very easily could have had that try been given.

Anyhow, I had no idea who I wanted to give points to, so I had a look at the stats.

2. Teo - Looked good in attack a few times. Most metres gained (127m).
2. Thaiday - Good go forward (108m) and defense (32 tackles).
1. Parker - Probably his worst game as far as metres made (82m), but made 49 tackles.. so he gets the point.
1. Winterstein - One of his better games in a little while. Still wasn't fantasic though.

Pretty much everyone else was disappointing to me.

Ohh that game SUCKED. Most frustrating game of the year, terrible refereeing and we should have won that match.

Don't know who to give points to, I was too frustrated.

I was pretty drunk by the end of the match in section 532 of suncorp stadium, but to be honest i still know how sh*t wallace played, what the hell, he needs to learn how to catch a ball, to be honest in the upper tear's of suncorp stadium the broncos still looked pretty crap tonight, not a very good game for the guys, but they had to lose sooner or later. Lets hope they bounce back next week!

That is Peter Wallace for you.. he regularly has average games when the 'big' games come around.

One of those games.
Gotta say, I was massively disappointed in Sims tonight. I thought this was just the sort of game for him to step up, lead the forwards and maintain the rage. Sadly not.

Points go to:
3 Hoffman - was just about the best on field
2 Wallace - tried hard all night but pushing sh*t up hill with that forward display
1 Thaiday - the Sammy machine keeps on rollin'

Judging this game and giving out votes is difficult which is rare especially considering I was at the game. No player was overly disappointing in my opinon yet noone really stood out in their performance. For all intensive purposes I've got to come up with a 3 2 1 so here it is:

3 Parker
2 Thaiday
1 Hunt

We weren't to far away from winning tonight against a side that was prepared to grind with us all game unlike some previous opposition. We didn't fall away in the contest. We just didn't make the most of the opportunities. I think it was said at halftime it was like the team was waiting for someone to set the example and the rest would follow. Well, it was a lot of one out stuff, no backup. And the team performance suffered just enough to lose. Not going to bust my chops over this one. We were beaten fair and square.

Disappointing performance, but you can't be up for every game and Penrith were just too good for us in the end.

Hard to pick a stand-out, a lot of players had their moments, but also made some unfortunate mistakes.

Think I'll go...

3. Josh Hoffman - Dangerous at the back again and came up with some good plays.
2. Ben Te'o - Dangerous on that left flank and made some nice strong surges.
1. Sam Thaiday - Put on a great pass for that Winterstein try and stood up when needed.

Special mentions to Ben Hunt, who I thought was good off the bench and Winterstein who had one of his better games.

Will be interesting to see how we'll respond against the Eels. I'm prepared to write tonight off as just 'one of those games'.

Scans today for Alex Glenn but the early prognosis is that he'll be out for 4-6 weeks trying to heal the strained ligaments in his ankle.

Thats so disappointing. He was starting to look natural in the centres IMO.

Anyway my best 3 would be:
3. Hoffman - Man did I underestimate his ability at the start of the year. He has been fantastic and just gets so involved. I love the inside pass that we give to him quite often in the game putting him through a hole. And also he is following his forwards up looking for offloads. WOW I am really happy with how Hoffman is turning out.

2. Sam Thaiday - This guy has a massive heart and busted his ass last night. He probably looked the most dangerous and lively of the forwards and he backed up from origin FFS.

1.Ben Te'o - Not as good as his previous games but was still dangerous on the fringes and hit players in defence like a mac truck.

Also honorable mention to Parker who just continues to work his ass off. Didn't make as many metres as usual but he made almost 50 tackles.

Terrible game tonight. We just got dominated in the forwards. The 5 day turn around and the boys backing up from origin must have been buggered because there was no energy or spark out there like there has been in previous weeks. Wallace tried hard but made the wrong choice too many times and stuffed up a lot. I was quite disappointed with his performance but he did try hard and make a lot of tackles.

It was a massively frustrating game to watch from the poor refereeing (not blaming them for the loss), all the errors and the fact that our forwards couldn't go forward. Not taking anything away from the panthers they were the better team on the night. Thats a shame about Glenn he was auditioning for the center position for next year, i presume Hodges will be back by the time Glenn is playing again its a real shame.

Points for this game are tough to give out.

3) Parker - Because of his work Rate

2) Tronc - He was the only real forward to give us any drive going forward i thought.

1) Hoffman - Good work at the back again. Looks dangerous coming through the middle.

I think Kenny needed a week in QLD cup he was unfit and it showed he really struggled out there.
