Even May if Capewell isn't fit. That way you don't move around more players then you have too

Yeah I’d put May there If Capewell isn’t ready, leave Laurie on the bench and use Yeo as the backup for the edge back towers and give spencer and Moses more minutes in the middle.

No you've made some valid points, and I agree. Parramatta only won due to a 10 minute lapse. We have already defeated the Storm, and the Roosters, and we can do so again. We are a work in progress.
Definitely, I honestly think if we get right for 80 mins we can beat any team this year. Going forward my biggest concern is whether the young guys in the side can keep it together when we play the better sides in the semis. Certainly some exciting times ahead for us.

Tetevano played edge last night but you don't want to start like that. Easier to just slot someone in

I actually didn’t think we were even close to perfect but perhaps my expectations are just too high because of they way we have been playing of late,
  • In the first half we had back to back sets where we made unforced errors and didn’t get to a kick.
  • 3 times the Sharks put up bombs and we just stood around and watched it bounce.
  • At least 3 times Naden rushed out of the line and got no one.
  • On a 5th tackle we had a forward take a hit up.
  • In the last 10 minutes it looked like we decided grabbing at jerseys was better than tackling

I am being pretty picking highlighting these things but we won’t be able to get way with that stuff against Parra, Storm or Roosters when they get their rep side back on the field.
Our middle defence went to shit once Api went off. May at hooker doesn't seem to want to do the tough legs tackling that we're now taking for granted from Api.

Need to hope we don't lose Api early in a game given the bench we've been running.

You could go in there and argue for a downgrade that this hit is no worse than the Asofa-Solomona one, but given what happened this week to Proctor and also last time Kikau went in there, I don't think I'd bother. Just give him a week's rest.

An eels player did a similar tackle as Nelson. It wasn't as bad and no penalty. But I think he has been charged while Nelson has been let off.
I thought Nelsons was worse and close to a send off. Shoulder charge at head. But maybe I am bias.
Kikau defense could be he was looking down and didn't realise he passed the ball. At time when Kikau put his head down he had the ball....

Sharks player never had the ball. Went straight over his head.

It’s still a handy side...
Edwards, Mansour, Crichton, Naden, To’o, Luai, Cleary, JFH, Kenny, Tamou, May, Martin, Yeo, Laurie, Leniu, Leota, Tetevano.

Like we did against the Titans, I imagine we will simplify the game a fair bit, kick early, play for repeat sets and be satisfied to grind out a 12 point win.

The backline is better than we had then but yeah simple is better. Barrett seems to be doing well changing tactics per game

Sweet, thanks. No doubt, with To'o back next week, this will be Laurie's last game for the season? Geez, I wish I had Foxtel, or that the game was televised. Sounds like it was a near perfect game?
Kayo is $25 per month. I ditched Foxtel a few years ago because of the rubbish content until Kayo came along.

I've just watched the game, and what a near perfect game it was. Matt Moylan was totally owned, what a fall from grace he had? Nathan Cleary, and Jerome Liau, are marrying up well. Liam is a beast. To pile on 94 points, and only concede 36 against our typical boggy side, is wonderful to see. Unfortunately, channel 9 does not deem us worthy enough to show our games on the free to air time slot.
Rnd 17 V Broncos Thursday night 8:00 p.m. (Ch 9)

Rnd 18 V Parra Friday night 8:00 p.m. (Ch 9)

Then Ch 9 has the whole finals series, including the Grand Final Day, live

The difference in fitness between the Panthers and Sharks players was highly noticeable, in Fridays game, especially with the forwards. How unfit and slow is Graham looking.

High praise to Ivan, Hayden Knowles, and the other strength and conditioning staff for the changes and improvements they have made between last season and this season. They have certainly found the right balance to have the players performing at their best.

So how will the Coach of the Year replace Big Billy? If Capewell is fit he'll surely come in, otherwise he could either just bring Burns in or do a bit of a reshuffle. Yeo to backrow, JFH to lock, Leota to start and Leniu to get bigger minutes with Burns getting the bench cameo role. With To'o back May will be back to 14, likely to come on for Kenny.
I know a lot of Panthers fans don't like Burns because of he's knocked it on a few times but I disnticly remember Liam Martin had a similar problem not too long ago. I'd like to play him at second row over May. Better defender and he's got a lot of skill to him he hasn't shown much of in first grade yet, probably a confidence thing similar to Martin. He's capable of ball playing and kicking and he scrambles a lot in defence. I remember him coming from the other side of the field to make a few vital tackles in the few games he played.
