Round 15 vs Sharks

The Shark's game will be tough. They are desperate and we are starting to look a bit flat.

We won't beat them with that approach in attack. We need Naden back in the centres and some pace outside him. Too or Staines will improve the balance of the side. Nothing wrong with May, but he is a slow centre and makes it easier for defences to defend our attack. May is better used as a ball playing utility who can play lock, hooker or second row and offer great ball distribution out wide when needed.

More "turn the ball inside" stuff and we will rack up our second loss.
I agree we were a bit flat the other night but credit to the Warriors as their line speed seemed to stifle our attack. I guess it is hard for the boys to be up week after week but I can’t help but think that almost inevitable loss must be very close.

Its Leniu for me. Harsh call but he’s clearly behind Leota & Tetevano in the rotation & getting the lesser minutes.

Tetevano might not bring a hell of a lot with the ball but he brings a bit of intimidation & aggression in defence.

Yeah I'd rather experience for finals but chances are injury will decide which prop drops out

Capewell and Tetevano were purchased for a reason. And it wasn't to run the oranges for Nathan and the boys.

They are 100% in our 17.

There’s no guarantees if someone takes over them form wise, though. It’s not like they’re genuine stars. Capewell I think comes back in because Burns was ordinary, Tetevano & Leniu is probably a coin toss.

My guarantee is due to Ivan. He would take Tetevano over Leniu/Leota. He bought him for a reason, his experience will mean a lot. Its why I am so confident Capewell will be in the 17 once he is fit. If I were coach I would have Capewell but Tetevano would be 50/50 for me.

Not so sure he'd take Tetevano over Leota but it seems unlikely we'll find out.

Look at the Sharks semi we played

We get it back to 16-12. RCG drops it 3rd tackle to give Sharks the ball. That set a tired/inexperienced Kikau gives the penalty away

The 2 points proved vital. I think where possible we play it safe. That includes with team selections

Capewell is easier due to not having any backrowers. Prop is a harder one but I still think we go safe

I wasn’t a massive fan of the Tetevano signing but I’ve come around to it especially with Hethero out of the 17. His speed & aggression in defence gives him the ability to put a hit on that changes momentum. We have plenty that can do it with the ball, not sure we have that many who can do it without it.

Which is exactly why I was for him coming. Not sure we should re-sign him but it allows us not to have to rush the young guys

If we don't turn up for both halves the Sharks are a dangerous enough team to beat us. What happened over a month ago between both teams is irrelevant.
The trouble with a long winning streak is little things creep into your game and you can get complacent.

With the finals coming up I would like to see more consistent 80 minute performances.
