Unfortunately another game without our SOO stars: Lockyer, Thaiday, Hodges, Hannant, Parker. Eels will be missing Hayne and Mannah. Here is the team I'd go with:

1. Josh Hoffman
2. Dane Gagai
3. Gerard Beale
4. Jack Reed
5. Shea Moylan
6. Corey Norman
7. Peter Wallace
8. Scott Anderson
9. Kurt Baptiste
10. Mitchell Dodds
11. Alex Glenn (c)
12. Matt Gillett
13. Andrew McCullough

14. Ben Hunt
15. Dunamis Lui
16. Nick Kenny
17. Dave Hala

This really highlights how important the game vs Souths was to our top 4 chances... oh well, shouldn't dwell...

Probably too many hookers in the side but I ran out of guys to pick. Surely I've missed someone? This side is assuming Kenny is over his injury and also assuming Teo, McGuire and Carlaw will still be out...

Can this makeshift Broncos line-up get over the line?

Hey Seagulls. Is Lingwoodock a chance to get picked here?

He's certainly improved alot in the past month. I suppose he would be if they were short. He's been playing more prop for us. I'll let you know how he goes this arvo/if Griffin is around. Dodds also has to get over his injury.

Is Parker a certainty to get picked? I thought he might have been a bit disappointing in Origin 2 and the last few weeks.

Pretty certain Moylan won't be there. He hurt his AC in a collision with a teammate trying to make a tackle and came off after 20 minutes. Lingy was okay but wasn't our best forward.

You'd hope Macca wasn't at the club period. :p

But yeah I agree, last time Macca went to lock we had 24 points put on us in 9 minutes! The horror....the horror...

Call up Frei or Lingwoodock.

I wish Copely was giving his marching orders to be a permanent fixture in the QLD cup....the guy is useless and exudes zero self confidence when he plays...he is timid and not up to 1st grade standard.

Aww give poor copley a go. He tries his heart out every game and comes up a little short. I didn't mind him in the Dragons game tho -besides the free try he gave. I tend to think he plays better when theres no stars.

Gillet will definately be the 13, macca no.9 and Lui in the starting. We really need another solid forward thats JUSSST not good enuff to be picked for QLD!

I live in Sydney and my best mate is traveling up with us for this game so we'll be cheerin for the boys with all we got!

Prerry sure the eels will come out firing but will get sloppy and let a few easy arial tries in for us to seal it 16-10 ;D

I really hope Macca stays in Q Cup, if we start to flow a bit more in attack we won't have to be wowed by his 50 tackles in a losing side. I simply just don't see it and definately think Baptiste has earnt a chance to make the 9 his own just as Macca had his and didn't grab it with both hands. Kurt needs a chance to become part of the team, and I really think he will flourish.

I believe our frontrow will let us down v the Eels in Sydney, however I will take more than a passing interest if young Kurtis Lingwoodock gets a run in 1sts. Start Hala and give Anderson the flick, the more game time Hala gets the better he will get with his confidence and fitness.

I hope the Broncs look to recruit another quality frontrower to help Hannant next year, he has been nothing short of amazing and further groom Hala who has immense potential.

Copley is only 20 years old and this is the longest he's lasted without sustaining an injury. Before the Rabbits game he was getting better with every performance.

That's not to say he doesn't deserve a stint in Q Cup because he does but I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Baptiste has to play in the 9 IMO. We def have a side capable off beating Parra but remember we can afford a loss and still stay 5th that always worries me. Look at last week FFS.

I didn't write Copley off, I just forgot about him. Always forget one....

Copley would have been named even if Moylan was fit.

His game vs Souths was a big worry tho. He seems to be a confidence player.

Team announced

1. Hoffman
2. Gagai
3. Reed
4. Beale
5. Copley
6. Norman
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. Baptiste
10. Anderson
11. Glenn
12. Lui
13. Gillette

14. McCullough
15. Hunt
16. Dodds
17. Hala

Glad Baptiste gets the starting run over Mac. I have no f**king idea why we need both Hunt and Mac on the bench. Kick one of them and give a young 2nd rower a go... Must be planning on playing Mac at lock off the bench and moving Gillette into 2nd row when Lui is off.

Hope Hala has a big game as our other props are pretty soft. Kenny more so than Anderson who i think is on the improve.

He must have been up the shit if you think he has been improving with each game since

I didn't think he started the season that poorly.

and I really haven't seen any improvement or a downhill slide.

He's just average from start to finish.

Not a bad looking side with all things and players missing considered. Another test for the young blokes. Keen to see how Gillett goes now he's had a game under his belt.

The props are definitely a worry........

and I agree ......why Hunt is needed in the side with Mc on the bench?

When he started he couldn't take a bomb, by the Dragons game he did everything asked of him.

He hasn't been a superstar but he's in a catch 22. Defensively he isn't good enough to be a centre and positionally he isn't good enough to be a winger. At full strength he wouldn't be there otherwise it'd be between the greatest Qld Cup winger Moylan or chicken legs Gagai.
