Playing Warriors always makes me nervous. Broncos really struggle defending 2nd phase play and general ad-lib play. And if we had trouble containing Moylan, I think Johnson is going to cause us some problems..

hmmm so last round Broncos players were dropping off tackles like the opposition was oiled up, whilst Warriors scored 48 points in their match.

Cant see much changing this week and expect us to get destroyed

Don't bother looking at team selections any more ... what's the point. Players performing badly are retained, and players who may be playing well in second tier teams won't be there.

From the start of this season, injury, representative duties and Hannant giving advice to a fellow team member are the only determinants of selection.

We conceded 58 last year, I'd be happy if we only let in 40 odd to lessen the embarrassment.

Well at least he kept Granville in the side. I don't normally wish injury on a player but I think that's the only way the 6 is gonna be changed.

I doubt the team named will be the one that runs out, given the short turn around from the Monday game to Tuesday's team announcement. At least this is what I keep telling myself...

Teams that play Monday won't be changed on the named team sheet unless there's injuries.

Barba will be 5/8 this week. Hoffman Fullback in defence with Hodges playing Fullback in the oppositions half. (Just my opinion. I have no inside knowledge, only common sense).

This.

Teamlist Tuesday in of itself is one of the biggest wanks in the competition. It's just a media obligation, unless it's Round 1, coaches generally don't give away too much, especially if they've played the night before.

With that said, I doubt we'll see all the selections fans want. No greener grass or shots in the dark.

I think the the changes I mentioned have the best hope for fruition, for no other reason than it's what we saw at the end of the Panthers game and it's worth experimenting with a bit more.

Common sense? That's a big ask.

The problem isn't really team selection, anyway. I don't hate Hoffman at 5/8th, nor do I hate Lowrie in the side. I think both Stagg and Lowrie in the same side is dumb but I get the idea. Hoffman is the biggest hog in the playground but not even he is to blame.

They can't play for 80 mins. Haven't been able to do so with any regularity for two or three years now. Losing five games where they were either in the lead or tied with less than ten minutes to go is a sign of a side where the majority of players aren't fit enough mentally.

If Roy Masters' highly speculative article is to be believed, recruitment will be a tough proposition for Brisbane for the foreseeable future. We may be stuck with a lot of these players for a long time.

Haven't seen it posted yet so here it is. Prepared to be miffed - http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/mystery-over-brisbane-broncos-money-trail-under-investigation-by-nrl-20140716-ztoal.html

Yeah, I read that article. Just a bunch of hyperbole based on zero facts or credible sources as far as I can see.

http://www.broncos.com.au/news/2014/07/18/broncos_statement_on_demoted_players.html

THREE Brisbane Broncos players have been replaced in the Brisbane Broncos’ squad for tomorrow night’s match with the New Zealand Warriors.

Jack Reed, Daniel Vidot and Corey Oates will miss the game at Suncorp Stadium after being demoted to the Queensland Cup for breaching team protocol.

They will play with their State League clubs this weekend – Reed with Norths, Vidot with Ipswich, and Oates with the Central Capras.

“The players in question were out during the week of a game which is not the way we expect them to prepare for a match,” said Broncos’ coach Anthony Griffin.

“As a club we have certain standards that we expect our players to adhere to.

“They know they have done the wrong thing by the team.

“The responsibility now for them is to train and play hard and fight their way back into the team.”

The Broncos will train this evening with the team to be finalised at that session.

Awesome stuff! -Discipline players for poor off field form, but not on field coach. Nice standards.

Warriors 72-4 lol!!

With reed, vidot and Oates out we have no chance, hopefully this will be the nail in Griffins coffin!

Was going to make an excuse to watch it and grab a steak with a mate at the pub tomorrow, but with this news I think we are gonna stay in with the ps3 and finish Watch Dogs. Losses are getting easier and easier to bare thank you Peter Griffin!

Geeze that's really poor from the players though. Mucking around after the team has dropped two games in a row.

Who'll come in? I imagine Maranta will come in on one wing... Fingers crossed Gillette makes an early return.

Gillett was ruled out earlier.
