LOL what? Alamoti was diabolical. He was so bad I could hardly believe my eyes. He looked every bit like the reserve grader that Ciraldo moved on. I know he has had good games for us but I still can't fathom this weird love many in this forum have for him. He is extremely error prone offensively and also with his defensive reads and tackling technique.
I didn't say our best was great haha but he was the only bloke running hard all game

They looked like they didn’t care. They didn’t show up. They thought they could just phone it in.
Mixture of arrogance and apathy maybe? The crowd was shit from all accounts too. I really think the no home ground factor is going to hurt lot.

Feels like Ivan might have sensed this too given his comments in the presser about the game being lost before we got there.

Even after Alamonti scored early there was no crowd noise. The energy in the stands matched the players

His youth and inexperience is the only 'saving grace' for Alamoti. He still has time to learn and get better, but gosh he has some dumb in him that I am not sure even Ivan can coach out of him.

Anyone remember his absolutely spastic offload attempt against the Sharks with only a few minutes left? All we had to do is hold the ball and he nearly lost it 20-30 metres out. Only through sheer luck did we keep possession. 9/10 times that would be a knock on or the Sharks would get the bounce and dive on it. I was surprised nobody seems to pick up on that play in any of the threads that I had a (brief) look at.

If he is still playing anything like this by the end of the season I think we'd need to consider alternatives.

The problem is the alternatives are McLean, Blaize or Cole or are kids and will have the same issues.

Listened to Ivan's presser. He's not a happy man. The whips and tackle bags will be out this upcoming week.

We play our best footy in the back half of the year.

Thats been proven the last 3 years.

The boys regularly come off short pre seasons and we take a while to warm up amd attack to click

Nothing worked tonight.

If your hitting the panic button after 5 years of dominance from one bad game then give yourself an uppercut.

I wasnt one saying wed win by 50 like 95% of others on here.

I wasnt confident all week. I did think wed win though so the loss hurts. But we will he fine.

Main thing is hopefully dyl is just a 2-3 week injury and not a 8 week+
Not just the end of the year. If you go back to the Rd 23(ish) game against Canberra last year you had similar posts after a similar performance.

I’m not defending the performance because that was terrible, but it is tough to be up every game.

I still have us as premiership favourites.

Melbourne will put 50 on us next week if we don’t change our defensive attitude
I agree we need to improve attitude in defence.

But we will though. This happens all the time. We take teams lightly who are down the bottom or expected to be down the bottom, and lift our intensity agains the bigger sides.

Our other centre is worse and hasn't improved in 2 years. Tago simply can't defend

Hopefully Ivan stops being charitable with selections now.

Matt Eisenhuth should not be near our jersey. Guy offers nothing at best of times but regularly has games where he gives away a penalty or two, drops the ball etc.

Players make mistakes. They’re only human. But if they don’t have the ability to offer something when they do. Why bother?

Casey McLean looks shit as a winger. Should have been in centres. As a winger I would just drop him to be honest.

Tago plays more bad than good. But he does have the ability to be great and keep us persisting with him. Which sucks because we dont know when he will actually play well.

I didnt like Laurie as our utility. But last night it was the best one we could have had since Dyl got injured. So we got lucky to have the right spare part. But i think Blaize or Toelau should be on bench and be ready to play some 9.

Not too bothered by the loss. Won $250 on it. I thought i was flushing money down toilet on Sportsbet crazy odds. Glad i did now. But honestly I expect us to be better for it. Show us we can’t just phone it in and win even if its an easy game. We need to try our hardest every week.

Just watched the game again and the loss is pretty much on Ivan. When every player in the side is that bad it simply has to fall on the coaching staff not having them prepared.
We all know Ivan won't drop anyone but 1 simple change instantly improves the side is swapping Alamoti and Casey. We'll need Paul's power on kick returns with Edwards out and Laurie at fullback.
Garner should also be starting over Sorro.

And like any sane person Ivan simply must accept Huth isn’t good enough to play prop in 2025.

And finally Tago just sucks, no improvement in defence for 2 years now. No idea why some of you just accept his inability to read what's coming at him.

I thought it was bizarre Garner was not used at all for 65 minutes. Having said that he dropped the ball on one of his first carries so he’s not exactly “banging the door down” to start.
